Alle vlaggen verschijnen achter elkaar. Wait up? What’s that? I don’t see Portugal!! Portugal deserves all attention today as direct result of them hosting cloudviews 2010, and with that play a very important role in giving Cloud computing the role it deserves in Europe.
A frenchman, Pierre-José Billotte started to build on his vision in October 2009. He had a vision of building a pan European network organized in two tiers with a national level (France, Espagna, England, Belgique, etc.) and a European level. The national level focuses on local topics and the European level on European topics, under the EuroCloud brand (or another if appropriate in a national setting). Only companies who have an interest in Cloud Computing and participate in the Cloud ecosystem can be members of the network. Build relationships with the European authorities (Commission and Parliament) to help recognise the Cloud Computing industry as the future of IT in Europe and to promote a stimulating environment for development and growth of the industry. Promote business relationships between members throughout Europe and internationally with counterparts such as SIIA. Promote technological relationships between members throughout Europe and internationally
How to realize the goals? Get sponsors on European level to cover costs for: Organize congresses Aid in development of companies who are considering Cloud computing or SaaS Arranging a marketplace for companies who want to do business together Beeing the one stop shop for organisations who seek european partners No competition against other Eurocloud members/Countries. The central body provides, the local body implements
For a local membership: Check the possibilities and pricing with the local Eurocloud Coordinator here in Portugal (Paulo Calcada)
Cloud computing is NOT a clear blue sky, it has clouds (klik), so it has obstacles. Every single one of you would like their own blue ocean, but that is not the case. There are hurdles to be taken.

Anyone knows what morphing is? It is a technique where you change a current situation into a new one. Like cloud computing: It is all about changing (morphing) your business from one situation to a new, desired one. Just don’t think it will all go by itself; Keep on checking your direction or you will end up with half the result
Start with your business model. Look at all the angles of the 4 most important perspectives.
Create an eco system. Don’t try to keep doing things yourself where you are not good at. Make sure you create the partnerships that suits your needs. Try to make it a situation where all parties included can benefit from.
Find the partners that can bring you value add. And always remember: YOUR customer is YOUR customer. Make sure that you make the proper agreements with your partner on that matter. The last thing you want is that your customer ends up doing business with your partner, leaving you empty handed.
Make sure that your target group knows where you are. If you keep hiding under a rock...or keyboardletter, it will be hard for customers to find you. Let them know you are there and what proposition you have. Make your competition irrelevant by showing your value add to the market.
SaaS is about volume. You have maturity levels that represent the SaaS solution you may be offering. Choose the maturity level that fits your needs. If you have a small amount of users, don’t bother to go to maturity level 4, it will costs you too much in effort and investment. Stick with a grow scenario. Make sure you incorporate this scenario in your Return in Investment plans.
