LaSER is an after-school STEM/Maker/FLL club at a Seattle elementary school. These are notes about what we did in our first year, and how we organized it. Lafayette Science, Engineering, and Robotics did several projects in its first year. * We fielded several FLL teams * We designed Martian habitats and 3D-printed them * We built our own copy of David Gilday's MIndCuber * We designed some wild planes and laser-cut the parts out In organizing the club, the parent volunteers made efficient use of the equipment available, parallelizing tasks where possible. We also tried to find opportunities to promote our "STICK" concepts of engineering: * Simplicity * Tradeoffs * Iteration * Constraints * Keep Moving Forward
