torpedoed by a German U-Boat in 1915.
II. USS Maine- A battleship that sak en route from Key
West to Havana, Cuba in 1898.
III. Andrea Doria- And Italian luxury liner built in the
early 1950’s that sank in 1956.
IV. Edmund Fitzgerald- A freighter that sank in 1975
on Lake Superior; resulted in 29 casualties.

she wrote an interesting and informative report describing the
shipwreck. Must demonstrate an in-depth understanding the
reason(s) incidents occur.
o Two Points: Students participated in class; wrote a competent essay
about shipwrecks. Also, demonstrated some comprehension of why
incidents happen.
o One Point: Students did not participate in class period. He/ she did
not write, or wrote an incomplete paper about shipwrecks. Did not
demonstrate any understanding of why incidents occur.
