Concept in Processes and
steps This concept shows the steps in the processes of the
Technical Plan presented in the next slide. This is
presented here to show you how a Critical Path
Method (CPM)could be used in evaluating the time
frame for the steps involve in the production of goods
or services that cover
procurement, production, packaging and distribution
of the goods produced for the end users.

 A mechanism by which administration directs, coordinates and
controls its business (Jose P. Leveriza)
 It seeks to know who is to do what is to be done(John F. Mee)

 It is a social for with 4 characteristics: set of individuals in an
office; individual responsibility for definite task; an
organizational goal; stable system of coordinative system and

functionalization as a system of organization

 Bureaucracy by Max Weber with division of
labor specified spheres of competence
legitimized as official duties; hierarchical
arrangements of offices; rules for carrying out
the work to be applied uniformity to individual
cases; impersonality-the official is subject to
an impersonal order and established norms of
conduct and acts objectively in his contacts
with individuals inside and outside the
organization; Officials are selected on the
basis of competence and not on irrelevant
considerations

Golombiewski- moral sensitivity can be associated
by satisfactory output and employees satisfaction
 Work must be psychologically acceptable
 Must allow man to develop his faculties
 Must allow individual considerable room for self
determination
 Must have possibility of controlling in meaningful
way
 Organization should not be sole and final arbiter
of behavior

Objectives  Know the various definitions of organization and relate these concepts to management  Identify the theories of organization or scientific management that are applicable to your firm  Discuss the types and forms of organization you would like your firm to be in the future  Conceptualize your processes and steps involved  Draw your own organizational framework and concepts  Write discussion on your concepts and framework
  • 3. Concept in Processes and steps This concept shows the steps in the processes of the Technical Plan presented in the next slide. This is presented here to show you how a Critical Path Method (CPM)could be used in evaluating the time frame for the steps involve in the production of goods or services that cover procurement, production, packaging and distribution of the goods produced for the end users.

  • 6. Definitions of Organization  A mechanism by which administration directs, coordinates and controls its business (Jose P. Leveriza)  It seeks to know who is to do what is to be done(John F. Mee)  A good executive maybe able to secure good results with poor a organization  A good organization may produce results from a poor executive  It is a social for with 4 characteristics: set of individuals in an office; individual responsibility for definite task; an organizational goal; stable system of coordinative system and relationship (Robert Weiss)  Structure of rules filled of humans (Alvin Toffer)
  • 7. Theory of Organization  Theory is a mere hypothesis, conjecture, individual view  Example:  Machine Model by Frederick W. Taylor(peculiarities of division of labor and specialization; unity of command and centralization of decision making; One-way authority; Narrow span of Control; functionalization as a system of organization

Theories of Organization  Bureaucracy by Max Weber with division of labor specified spheres of competence legitimized as official duties; hierarchical arrangements of offices; rules for carrying out the work to be applied uniformity to individual cases; impersonality-the official is subject to an impersonal order and established norms of conduct and acts objectively in his contacts with individuals inside and outside the organization; Officials are selected on the basis of competence and not on irrelevant considerations

Golombiewski- moral sensitivity can be associated by satisfactory output and employees satisfaction  Work must be psychologically acceptable  Must allow man to develop his faculties  Must allow individual considerable room for self determination  Must have possibility of controlling in meaningful way  Organization should not be sole and final arbiter of behavior
