1. Sid Rosenberg Celebrity Bounty Poker Tournament was a KNOCKOUT
Mardi Gras Florida Casino, home of South Florida’s top poker room The Big Easy, hosted a
Celebrity Bounty Poker Tournament featuring WQAM’s host of Afternoon Drive, Sid Rosenberg
on Wednesday night. The evening started with Sid hosting his radio show directly from the Big
Easy Poker Room. As Sid’s show broadcasted, some of the local Florida tournament players
lined up to buy in for a shot at the $500 bounty placed on Sid Rosenberg. The poker
tournament started with 87 players, including Sid and some of his celebrity friends. After
pushing all in several times, Sid finally got knocked out by Scott Teperman, who went on to win
the tournament.
Sid Rosenberg Has Become a Florida Institution
Sid relocated to South Florida in 2005 where he signed with 790 The Ticket. He started hosting
middays with O.J. McDuffie and then moved to the morning-drive, which he held for over two
years. In 2009, Sid left 790 and took over middays on WQAM-560. Sid also hosted the Miami
Dolphins post-game show on WQAM. Sid recently took over the afternoon drive, replacing the
legendary Jim Mandich. You can tune into Sid Rosenberg at 3pm-7pm on WQAM.

2. Sports Stars Filled the South Florida Poker Room
Sid Rosenberg didn’t come alone to the Big Easy Poker Room’s Celebrity Bounty Poker
Tournament. Bernie Kosar, Danny Kanell, Randy Moller and Jay Feely all played along side Sid,
while Channing Crowder came by to watch all the action. Bernie Kosar is a former Miami
Dolphins quarterback who is fondly remembered for designing a trick play that helped the
Dolphins defeat the Jets in 1994. Danny Kanell is a former quarterback in the NFL and is
currently calling college football telecasts for ESPN.
Randy Moller, a retired ice hockey player, is the voice of the Florida Panthers.
Jay Feely is a placekicker in the NFL, who had his most productive season with the Miami
Dolphins, missing only two of his 23 field goal attempts for a franchise high 91.3 field goal
percentage.
As Sid and his friends tried their luck at the poker tables, Channing Crowder, starting linebacker
for the Miami Dolphins, enjoyed the poker tournament from his seat at Louie’s Bar. This is
where he found a greyhound named Channing Crowder running in the ninth race at Naples Dog
Track. Everyone crowded around and watched the race as Channing Crowder, the dog, finished
dead last. Despite the devastating loss, Channing Crowder, the person, was excited to have a
greyhound named after him.
