13. HOSPITAL PHARMACY: HERE
AND ABROAD
Differences:
 The pharmacists abroad are more exposed
to the patients compared to the pharmacists
here in our country.
 Pharmacists abroad have routine meetings
with other allied health professionals while
in our country, the doctors usually talk with
the pharmacists when they are in need of
them.

14. SUGGESTIONS…
 There should be a face-to-face relationship or
interaction between the pharmacist and the
patient. A pharmacist should be available at
the bedside or near the bedside.
 The pharmacists should take the drug history
of the patient upon admission.
 The pharmacists should also be involved in
talking with the patient upon discharge and
make sure that the medications are
appropriate.
