1. 2. Brainstorming - Freewriting Freewriting is a brainstorming method that entails writing quickly using complete sentences for a specific amount of time without stopping. Start with a word or phrase and write down anything you can think of that is related to the topic. You should never stop writing until the designated time is over. If you cannot think of what to write, simply write, “I don’t know what else to write…blah blah blah” The trick is to never stop typing, so that the ideas can flow. Do not worry about grammar, punctuation, or spelling. This just a way to get out your ideas and will be revised and edited numerous times before the final draft.
