1. EVALUATION

Duringmy processof makingthisfilm,Ilearntthat stickingtodeadlinesare hardto do sowe have to
setthe realistically.Ialsolearntthatwe alwaysmusthave a back-upplanbeingif itthat occurs in
Pre-Production,ProductionorPost-Production.Lastly,IlearntthatourgroupsMUST agree intotality
witheverythingthatwe come across.
We hada numberof problemthatoccurredespeciallyduringourshoot.The Pre-Productionstage
wentwell andwe believe thatwe didverywell inthatpartof the film.Ourproductionstage went
badlyas we didn’thave a chargerfor the camera. Our backupplanwas to getanothercamera sowe
can filmlongerbutwe were notable to dothat. Also,while we werefilming,the camerathatwe had
startedto bug outby displayingerrors.We alsowere downanactor whenitcame to shootingthe
filmandone of ouractors hadto leave early.We didhave back-upplansforall of this butonlyone
of the back-upplansworkedandthatwas our shortenedversionof ourshootingscript.Toprevent
thisfromhappeningagain,we needtoagree oneverythingthatwe are able todo what we have to
do at a specifictime ata certainplace.
For our shootingschedule,Ibelievethatitwasveryrealisticandwasdo-able toa standard,but
because of our faultycamera,we hadto shortenit.We didfinishrecordingall the footage withone
minute of batterylife tospare.We were notable to achieve the qualitywe wantedbutwe were able
to getthe shootfinishedwhichwasgood.If we hadstuck to our planand collectedthe charger,we
wouldhave beenable togetthe whole shootdone tothe standardwe wanted.I believe thatthere
was a lack of communicationandthatnexttime,we shouldcommunicatemore.
Our storyboardwasquite shortand wasalmostundoable because of how shortitwas comparedto
our shootingscript.Butwe didmanage to come upwithsome creative shotsduringthe process
whichwe addedlater.Thisbecame ourback-upplanif we were not able toget the full 5 minsout of
the shootingscript.Thankfullywe didthinkof thisbecauseof the cameraissue thatwe had and the
actor issue.
Our shotlistwas verycontroversial becausewe didn’tuse it.Onthe shootingday,because there
was an actor down,we didn’thave ashot listforour backupplan.We had to thinkof itwhile we
were filmingsowe filmedeverythinginsidefirstandwhenitgota bit darkerwe filmedthe stalker’s
part so itwouldbe easyfor us inpost-production.Nexttime,we alwaysneedtodouble checkwhat
we are doingsowe knowwe have everythingreadyforshooting.
Our recce was not able totell ushow the area sounds,eventhoughthere wasnodialogue inthe
final production,we didnotcheckforany backgroundnoise before shootingorevenif the lighting
was goingtobe okaywhenwe were goingtoshootit. Our permissionswere made byone of the
membersof ourteam because itwasher house.Nexttime,we needtocheckEVERYTHINGto make
sure we have a suitable place toworkaround.
Our actors were readyto preformwhentheygoton.To double check,we needed totell themwhat
theyneededtodomultiple timesandletthemdoa dry run.Thistold usthat theywere readyand
we were readyto start shooting.Honestly,Ibelievethatourrolesshouldhave beenswappedforthe
actors because theywere almostthe completeopposite totheirroles.Theyalsolookedthe
complete opposite.We shouldhave sortedthisoutatfirstbutwe foundout duringthe post-
productionstage whichwastoo late.We shouldhave putinmore thought.

Everyone inthe crewknewwhattheywere doinganddidn’thave tobe toldtwice foranything
whichmade the shootingprocessflowwellandeasilyapartfromthe flawsof the camera.Our
creative ideascame togethertofix aproblemthatwe had whichmade our crew a successful crew.
We alsoagreedonthe spotmakingthisan easyprocess.
All ourequipment(whentakenout) wasworkingproperlyandIeventesteditonthe bushome.I
put themawaysafelyandcontinuedplanningahead.Onsite iswhenitstartedtomuck aboutand
not work.It causedconfusionwhile we were shootingbutwe decidedtoletitslide andwe managed
to finishshooting.However,we didnotcheckthe cameraright before shooting.We shouldhave
don’tthat and made sure that we were able tofilmwiththatcamera withoutanytroubles.
Our call sheetswere effective andeverybodyshowedupontime of just5 minslate because of
traffic.We didcommunicate well tomake sure thatwe were all at the same locationatthe same
time.We kepttalkingoversocial mediaorthroughtexting.Thisallowedforaquickstart and we did
not have to waiton anybody.
Overall,we couldhave made some dramaticchangesinourplanningandhow we prepare.We were
disappointedwiththe outcome butwe didwell despite ourproblems.Toimprove onnexttime,I
mustwork harderon everythinginthe pre-productionstage andalsomake sure thateverything
wouldcorrelate andblendtogethertomake a good production.
