 Purpose: Facilitate basic operations of the
housing department at Methodist University
 Current setting:
 Six traditional halls
 Two apartment complexes
 One Greek house
 Resident Assistants (RA) for each student

3. Features for the Residence Hall staff
 Information about dormitories and apartments
 Searching for a particular student
 Assigning students to dorms and rooms
 Assigning students to become RAs
 Printing reports:
 All students by dorm
 All RAs by dorm
 All empty rooms by dorm
 All students currently not assigned to a room and
dorm

4. Features for Students
 Log in with Student ID and Password
 The resulting form contains:
 Student ID
 First name and Last name
 Gender
 Class hours
 Dorm
 Room number
 Student RA
 Dorm preferences

5. Implementation
 Application is written in PHP and it is connected
to MySQL database
 The program I used to create this database is
called XAMPP
