This document discusses PHPExcel, an in-memory spreadsheet engine for PHP. PHPExcel allows users to generate and process Excel documents from PHP applications. It provides functionality for working with workbooks, worksheets, cells, formulas, styles, and images. PHPExcel is open-source, supports multiple platforms, and sees average daily downloads of over 600. It can be used for generating Excel reports, importing/exporting Excel data, and leveraging business logic and calculations from Excel documents.
