Occupations creating my occupational identity
1.
2. Being an Aunty to my three nephews
and niece is a huge part of my Identity. I
see it as being the best role model I can
be, which pushes me to become a
better person. I enjoy my time with them
and it is constantly fun and refreshing to
see them grow as people.
3.
4. Huge area of my life not only through
playing the sport itself but through the
many interactions that are created.
Allows me to constantly set new goals
and push me to become a better
player. Socially it gives me a whole
different culture and in many ways a
second family who I associate and
identify myself with.
5.
6. This Occupation allows me to create
something for others and also for myself.
Nothing beats the feeling of cooking a
meal for others and seeing the
enjoyment they receive from eating your
food. In my flat the boys recognise me as
‘camp mum’ as I love to cook and bake.
7.
8. Is a new occupation I am starting to
learn through occupational science. This
is a new experience for and highlights
the part of my identity that strives to
achieve something new and that is a
challenge.
9.
10. Sport is a huge part of my life and this is
another occupation in my identity. I
have had the privilege of playing at a
national level through representing
Canterbury. However this is a sport I
relate to returning home to Christchurch
over summer as it is a way for me to
catch up with many friends I haven't
seen in a long time due to studying in
Dunedin.
11.
12. This occupation allowed me to
experience first hand many different
cultures and see the way other parts of
the world live. Along with this it allowed
me to learn more about myself in terms
of what I love and my strengths and
weaknesses in different situations. This
occupation once again allowed me to
meet new and exciting people.
13.
14. This is a huge part of the student culture
and something I love doing as a positive
balance in my life. It is a way to stay in
touch with Friends, especially in Dunedin
as most students are ready for a break in
the weekend after a hard weeks study.
15.
16. This occupation has helped shape my
identity since a young age. Being from a
big family we worked hard as kids for our
own money to support ourselves. This has
allowed me to develop a solid work
ethic which allowed me to travel around
the world, and now support myself with
my current job while studying.
17.
18. This occupation brings with it tradition as
it is an annual activity for my family. This is
something we look forward to every
summer as it is a break from the reality's
of work and study. It gives us time to
reflect on what has been in the last year
and where each of us is at
currently, while having fun in each others
company.
19.
20. This is my current goal in life and wanting
to achieve this is the reason for where I
am now. Following this occupation has
led me to Dunedin and created my
identity as a student here. Becoming this
will allow me to create a career for
myself and a stepping stone for where
ever I may end p in the future.
