- 4. One in six children are exposed to violence in the home See a major reduction in children being harmed Preventing and protecting children from harm must be a priority for all. We want to see a new alignment of services and professionals including the police, health, schools and local authorities to protect and care for vulnerable children. “ ”
- 5. 2.7 million children live in poverty in England Changing the odds Children in England grow up in a society that is deeply unequal. We are committed to reducing inequality by improving the odds for the most disadvantaged groups. We want to improve the outcomes of all children and in particular: those who are raised in poverty; who are disabled; who have a mental health condition; or who are in the youth justice system. “ ”

Children account for around 25% of the population in England and 100% of the future See a Government that helps children flourish We know children’s views are often overlooked when making policy. So we want to see a stocktake of investment in and a commitment to children across all government departments. We will make sure that children’s best interests are considered in policy making that affects them. “ ”
