Period 45: Unit 13. Where’s my book?
Lesson 3
I. Aims:
- After the lesson, , Students can pronounce the sounds of the letters ch and wh in the
words chair and where respectively.
* Pattern: review
- Develop: speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
II. Teaching aids:
Book, workbook, CD and CD player.
III. Procedures:
Teacher's activities Students' activities
1. Warm up: (5-6 mins)
-Play game of Spelling and writing, using the words
learnt.
- Introduce the new lesson.
2. Presentation: (5-6 mins).
- Ask Ss look at the letters ch and wh notice the
letters coloured differently in both words.
- T explains how to make the sound.
- Read the sounds, the words and the sentences in a
few times. Ask Ss to say what they hear these
sounds.
3. Practice (25-26 mins)
Part 1. Listen and repeat.
- Play the recording.
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat
- Ask Ss listen and read to recognize the sounds
( twice)
- Listen and repeat line by line
Part 2: Listen and write.
- Tell Ss that they are going to do a dictation by
listening to the recording and fill in the gap with the
words that they listened.
- Give the class few minute to read the text before
starting the dictation
- Play the recording
- Ask the Ss to swap their book to check their
answer before checking as a class.

2. The book is on the chair
Part 3: Let’s chant.
-Tell Ss that they are going to say “ Where’s the
book?” chant.
- Have Ss read each line of the chant and then play
the recording and repeat.
- Show Ss how to read the chant and do actions
- Ask groups of Ss listen and repeat the chant.
- Do T’s ask.
- Listen.
- Look and notice the letters.
- Listen.
- Listen and repeat
- Listen.
- Listen and repeat.
- Repeat line by line.

- Swap their book

Part 4: Read and tick
- Tell the Ss that “they are going to look at the
picture, read the passage and tick the correct
picture”.
- Give the Ss time to do the task. Go round to offer
help.
- Get Ss to swap and correct their answer before
checking as a class.
- Write the correct answer on the board ask the Ps to
copy into their notebook.

- Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and
complete thr conversation about their own
bedrooms.
- Give Ss time to look at the picture and read the
text in silence. Go around to offer help.
- Get Ss to swap and correct their answer before
checking as a class.
- Write the correct answer on the board and ask the
Ps to copy into their notebook.

Part 6: Project
- Tell Ss that “you are going to draw and colour
your bedroom and describe it”.
- Check understanding
- Give Ss time to do the project in groups.
- Call a few Ss to the front of the class to present
their bedroom.

4. Consolidation and homework. (4-5 mins)
- Let’s Ss practice freely, using the learned patterns.
- Practice saying about the school things.
- Prepare: Unit 14. Lesson 1
-Two groups read the chant, the
other claps along the rhythm.
- Listen to the teacher.
- Guess.
- Pairwork.
- Go and write.
- Copy down.

Period 46: Unit 14. Are there any posters in the room?
Lesson 1
I. Aims:
- After the lesson, Students can use the words and phrases related to the topic Things
in a room. And ask and answer about things in a room, using Are there any + thing
(plural).
* Pattern: Are there any posters in the room?
No, there aren’t.
- Develop: speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
II. Teaching aids:
Book, workbook, CD and CD player.
III. Procedures:

1. Warm up: (5-6 mins)
- Ask Ss play game Bingo, using the vocabulary
learnt.
- Introduce new lesson .
2. Presentation: (5-6 mins)
- Use the picture on page 24 and ask Ss identify the
characters in the picture.
- Ask Ss guess what the characters are saying. Tell
them that they are going to learn how to talk about
school things.
- Elicit and present the pattern.
- Read the pattern in a few times.
3. Practice (20-21 mins)
Part 1: Look, listen and repeat
- Tell Ss that they are going to learn how to talk
about things in a room.
- Point the first picture and elicit the names of the
characters and explain what they say.
- Read the text.
- Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Play the recording.
- Have the whole class read the text again.
Part 2: Point and say
- Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and
answering about things in a room, using Are there
any + thing (plural).
- Give Ss a few seconds to look at the pictures and
read the words under them.
- Have Ss repeat each word few times
- Call on pairs. Tell them to pretend the characters
in pictures in pictures to say.
- Play game..
- Listen.
- Look and identify the
characters.
- Guess.
- Follow and copy down.
- Repeat in chrorus.
- Listen.
- Name the characters.
- Repeat.
- Repeat each line of the text.
- Whole class.
- Listen and repeat.
- Look at the pictures and read
the words.
- Repeat.
- Pairwork.
Are there any posters in the room?
No, there aren’t
- Ask Ss practise in pairs to say about things in a
room.
- Monitor and offer help if necessary.
- Call on some pairs to practice in the front of the
class.
- Give comments.
* Language note:
- Remind Ss of differences in pronounciation of the
final s in posters, sofas, cupboards, wardrobes and
maps. Have Ss practise identifying and pronouncing
the sounds /s/ and /z/.
- Have Ss practise saying the two words are and
aren’t a few times.
Part 3: Let’s talk.
- Have Ss look at the pictures on page 24 and
identify the characters in the pictures.
- Point to Picture , ask what each character should
say. Then fill the speech bubbles with the phrases
promted by the Ss. Have Ss repeat the lines in the
bubbles a few times before letting them practise
freely.
- Have Ss to work in pairs (use the names in their
books or the real names to practice.
- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary
- Call on a pair to demonstrate at the front of the
class.
* Language note: Draw pupil’s attention to the
plural nouns after Are they any ….?
Part 4: Listen and tick
- Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick the
correct boxes.
- Ask Ss look at the pictures
- Ask Ss elicit the names of the characters and what
is happening in each picture.
- Play the tape three times
+ 1st
: Play the recording all the way through for Ss
to listen.
+ 2nd
: Play the recording for Ss do the task
+ 3rd
: Play the recording for Ss to check their
answers.
- Get Ss to swap and check their answers before
checking as a class.
- Explain the answers and give further support to Ss
who got more than half of answer wrong.

Part 5: Look, read and write
- Explain the task: they are going to look at the
pictures, read and complete the sentences. Check
comprehension and give feedback.
- Give Ss time to do the task and ask Ss work in
pairs.

identify the characters
- Answer and fill the speech

Aims: - After the lesson, , Students can pronounce the sounds of the letters ch and wh in the words chair and where respectively. * Pattern: review - Develop: speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. II. Teaching aids: Book, workbook, CD and CD player. III. Procedures: Teacher's activities Students' activities 1. Warm up: (5-6 mins) -Play game of Spelling and writing, using the words learnt. - Introduce the new lesson. 2. Presentation: (5-6 mins). - Ask Ss look at the letters ch and wh notice the letters coloured differently in both words. - T explains how to make the sound. - Read the sounds, the words and the sentences in a few times. Ask Ss to say what they hear these sounds. 3. Practice (25-26 mins) Part 1. Listen and repeat. - Play the recording. - Ask Ss to listen and repeat - Ask Ss listen and read to recognize the sounds ( twice) - Listen and repeat line by line Part 2: Listen and write. - Tell Ss that they are going to do a dictation by listening to the recording and fill in the gap with the words that they listened. - Give the class few minute to read the text before starting the dictation - Play the recording - Ask the Ss to swap their book to check their answer before checking as a class. The book is on the chair Part 3: Let’s chant. -Tell Ss that they are going to say “ Where’s the book?” chant. - Have Ss read each line of the chant and then play the recording and repeat. - Show Ss how to read the chant and do actions - Ask groups of Ss listen and repeat the chant. - Do T’s ask. - Listen. - Look and notice the letters. - Listen. - Listen and repeat - Listen. - Listen and repeat. - Repeat line by line. - Listen - Read the text. - Listen - Swap their book - Listen. - Listen and repeat. - Listen and do action. - Listen and repeat the song.

Part 4: Read and tick - Tell the Ss that “they are going to look at the picture, read the passage and tick the correct picture”. - Give the Ss time to do the task. Go round to offer help. - Get Ss to swap and correct their answer before checking as a class. - Write the correct answer on the board ask the Ps to copy into their notebook. Consolidation and homework. (4-5 mins) - Let’s Ss practice freely, using the learned patterns. - Practice saying about the school things. - Prepare: Unit 14. Aims: - After the lesson, Students can use the words and phrases related to the topic Things in a room. And ask and answer about things in a room, using Are there any + thing (plural). * Pattern: Are there any posters in the room? No, there aren’t. - Develop: speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. II. Teaching aids: Book, workbook, CD and CD player. III. Procedures: Teacher's activities Students' activities 1. Warm up: (5-6 mins) - Ask Ss play game Bingo, using the vocabulary learnt. - Introduce new lesson . 2. Presentation: (5-6 mins) - Use the picture on page 24 and ask Ss identify the characters in the picture. - Ask Ss guess what the characters are saying. Tell them that they are going to learn how to talk about school things. - Elicit and present the pattern. - Read the pattern in a few times. 3. Practice (20-21 mins) Part 1: Look, listen and repeat - Tell Ss that they are going to learn how to talk about things in a room. - Point the first picture and elicit the names of the characters and explain what they say. - Read the text. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Play the recording. - Have the whole class read the text again. Part 2: Point and say - Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering about things in a room, using Are there any + thing (plural). - Give Ss a few seconds to look at the pictures and read the words under them. - Have Ss repeat each word few times - Call on pairs. Tell them to pretend the characters in pictures in pictures to say. - Play game.. - Listen. - Look and identify the characters. - Guess. - Follow and copy down. - Repeat in chrorus. - Listen. - Name the characters. - Repeat. - Repeat each line of the text. - Whole class. - Listen and repeat. - Look at the pictures and read the words. - Repeat. - Pairwork.   • 5. - Ask Ss practise in pairs to say about things in a room. - Monitor and offer help if necessary. - Call on some pairs to practice in the front of the class. - Give comments. * Language note: - Remind Ss of differences in pronounciation of the final s in posters, sofas, cupboards, wardrobes and maps. Have Ss practise identifying and pronouncing the sounds /s/ and /z/. - Have Ss practise saying the two words are and aren’t a few times. Part 3: Let’s talk. - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 24 and identify the characters in the pictures. - Point to Picture , ask what each character should say. Then fill the speech bubbles with the phrases promted by the Ss. Have Ss repeat the lines in the bubbles a few times before letting them practise freely. - Have Ss to work in pairs (use the names in their books or the real names to practice. - Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary - Call on a pair to demonstrate at the front of the class. * Language note: Draw pupil’s attention to the plural nouns after Are they any ….? Part 4: Listen and tick - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes. - Ask Ss look at the pictures - Ask Ss elicit the names of the characters and what is happening in each picture. - Play the tape three times + 1st : Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen. + 2nd : Play the recording for Ss do the task + 3rd : Play the recording for Ss to check their answers. - Get Ss to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Explain the answers and give further support to Ss who got more than half of answer wrong. * Key: 1 a 2 b Part 5: Look, read and write - Explain the task: they are going to look at the pictures, read and complete the sentences.
