with a history of winning hackathons. She’s the
founder of a Product Development Consultancy called
Rigby/Rose, where she’s worked with startups and
space agencies on impactful emerging technologies.

Designer at Twitter, turning big ideas into elegant

at the Education Innovation Centre of the University of
the West of England and Programme Leader for the
Masters in Education in Virtual Worlds. Her
background is in Languages and Linguistics with a
strong emphasis in technology enhanced teaching and
learning approaches. Fascinated by the opportunities
that VR offers to enhance the learning experiences of
students and to provide valid and innovative
alternative solutions to some of the challenges
encountered in traditional educational practices, for the
last eight years MariCarmen has been exploring the
use of virtual worlds for education and designing
learning experiences in these environments that would
be difficult, dangerous, costly and/or unethical to
reproduce in the physical world.

The BDA is the voice of dyslexic people. Their aim is to
influence government and other institutions to promote
a dyslexia friendly society, that enables dyslexic people
of all ages to reach their full potential. In the 40 years
that the BDA has been campaigning there has been
many changes in the world of dyslexia, some of them
good. In light of this milestone, the BDA produced a
report in 2012 looking back at the last 40 years and has
made recommendations for the future. In partnership
with The Dyslexia Foundation and after consulting 100
organisations, this report is a wide-ranging and
comprehensive assessment of the current provision for
adults with dyslexia.
Dr Aaron Ralby, CEO at Linguisticator and Founder

Aaron is the founder and CEO of Linguisticator and the
inventor of Macunx. He first started exploring the art of
memory during his PhD in medieval studies when he
learned about techniques monks and scholars used in
the Middle Ages to remember and compose literature.
He subsequently spent several years of research
figuring out how to apply the same techniques to large
and complex systems – like languages.

scanning studio that converts multiple angle videos of
