— The Sierpinski fractal antenna has been analyzed parametrically, and observed how its characteristics changing with the variation of its different parameters. The input return loss and input impedance have log periodic behavior that characterizes the sierpinski monopole antenna as fractal geometry. The band spacing and impedance matching have been improved by using different scale factor and feeding methods. Sierpinski monopole antenna for WLAN bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz) has been designed and simulated using Ansoft Hfss.The operating frequencies of the proposed designs match with IEEE802.11b (2.45GHz) and IEEE802.11a (5.20 GHz and 5.775GHz) standards which would allow WLAN operation.

A reliable configuration of electromagnetic interactions for antenna design can yield an effective Microstrip patch (MsP) antenna. During its design, the antenna arrays involve issues with parameters (i.e., space, dimension, shape) adjustment. This problem can be tackled with an analytical approach which can help to bring better idea to design the antenna aaray. However, the realistic designs of antenna array are quite expensive while extracting computational accuracy. Thus, to have low cost computational accuracy various meta-heuristic (generic algorithm, partical swarm optimizarion) approaches are used and are considered as effective one in handling the pattern synthesis problems. Howeever, the use of meta-heuristic approaches demands thousands of functions to analyze the antenna design. This manuscript introduces an analytical approach for MsP antenna desing using MATLAB that brings optimization in handling the side lobes and optimizing the reflection as well as radiation responses. The outcomes of the design were analyzed with respect to reflection, radiation coefficients, side lobes and found effective at 10GHz as per computational cost is concern.

Automatic leaf recognition via image processing has been greatly important for a number of professionals, such as botanical taxonomic, environmental protectors, and foresters. Learn an over-complete leaf dictionary is an essential step for leaf image recognition. Big leaf images dimensions and training images number is facing of fast and complete data leaves dictionary. In this work an efficient approach applies to construct over-complete data leaves dictionary to set of big images diminutions based on sparse representation. In the proposed method a new cropped-contour method has used to crop the training image. The experiments are testing using correlation between the sparse representation and data dictionary and with focus on the computing time.

The learning of deep models, in which a numerous of parameters are superimposed, is known to be a fairly sensitive process and should be carefully done through a combination of several techniques that can help to stabilize it. We introduce an additional challenge that has never been explicitly studied: the heterogeneity of sparsity at the instance level due to missing values or the innate nature of the input distribution. We confirm experimentally on the widely used benchmark datasets that this variable sparsity problem makes the output statistics of neurons unstable and makes the learning process more difficult by saturating non-linearities. We also provide the analysis of this phenomenon, and based on our analysis, we present a simple technique to prevent this issue, referred to as Sparsity Normalization (SN). Finally, we show that the performance can be significantly improved with SN on certain popular benchmark datasets, or that similar performance can be achieved with lower capacity. Especially focusing on the collaborative filtering problem where the variable sparsity issue has been completely ignored, we achieve new state-of-the-art results on Movielens 100k and 1M datasets, by simply applying Sparsity Normalization (SN). https://arxiv.org/abs/1906.00150

The learning of deep models, in which a numerous of parameters are superimposed, is known to be a fairly sensitive process and should be carefully done through a combination of several techniques that can help to stabilize it. We introduce an additional challenge that has never been explicitly studied: the heterogeneity of sparsity at the instance level due to missing values or the innate nature of the input distribution. We confirm experimentally on the widely used benchmark datasets that this variable sparsity problem makes the output statistics of neurons unstable and makes the learning process more difficult by saturating non-linearities. We also provide the analysis of this phenomenon, and based on our analysis, we present a simple technique to prevent this issue, referred to as Sparsity Normalization (SN). Finally, we show that the performance can be significantly improved with SN on certain popular benchmark datasets, or that similar performance can be achieved with lower capacity. Especially focusing on the collaborative filtering problem where the variable sparsity issue has been completely ignored, we achieve new state-of-the-art results on Movielens 100k and 1M datasets, by simply applying Sparsity Normalization (SN). https://arxiv.org/abs/1906.00150

In this study, the problem of optimal capacitor location and size determination (OCLSD) in radial distribution networks for reducing losses is unraveled by moth swarm algorithm (MSA). MSA is one of the most powerful meta-heuristic algorithm that is taken from the inspiration of the food source finding behavior of moths. Four study cases of installing different numbers of capacitors in the 15-bus radial distribution test system including two, three, four and five capacitors areemployed to run the applied MSA for an investigation of behavior and assessment of performances. Power loss and the improvement of voltage profile obtained by MSA are compared with those fromother methods. As a result, it can be concluded that MSA can give a good truthful and effective solution method for OCLSD problem.

In this paper, multifocus image fusion using quarter shift dual tree complex wavelet transform is proposed. Multifocus image fusion is a technique that combines the partially focused regions of multiple images of the same scene into a fully focused fused image. Directional selectivity and shift invariance properties are essential to produce a high quality fused image. However conventional wavelet based fusion algorithms introduce the ringing artifacts into fused image due to lack of shift invariance and poor directionality. The quarter shift dual tree complex wavelet transform has proven to be an effective multi-resolution transform for image fusion with its directional and shift invariant properties. Experimentation with this transform led to the conclusion that the proposed method not only produce sharp details (focused regions) in fused image due to its good directionality but also removes artifacts with its shift invariance in order to get high quality fused image. Proposed method performance is compared with traditional fusion methods in terms of objective measures.
