1. Who would be the audience for your music magazine?
Young adults between the ages of 16-25 who are interested in dubstep these people are either in sixthform or university.. It would be a unisex magazine appealing to both genders. Dubstep is an urban inner city music genre meaning that the target audience will be diverse ethnically and culturally. This symbolized by my main image because it symbolizes the diversity of the target audience. Their price range to spend would be £3 on a monthly publication which can than be supported by an online website which allows the audience to digitally interact with what they are buying and this would appeal to the target audience who are interested in digital technology.
How did you attract/ address the audience for your music publication?
My Mast head is in graffiti style font which attracts the target audience because they feel they can read it and it is exclusive to them. This address’s the target audience directly and is enticing which is anchored by the main image of a graffiti wall using the rule of thirds the main protaganist is young and representative of the target audience in his clothes and attitude. The color scheme I used is conventional which attracts the target audience because It represents the content of the lyrics which are associated with young people.
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I used several different technologies in the construction of my music magazine such as pages, photo shop and blogger. I learnt in photo shop how to manipulate and crop images to represent my magazine also the construction of my mast head and strap lines/cover lines. Using this technology I learnt how a music magazine Is constructed and produced to a professional level. Using Pages I learnt how to construct text to anchor the meaning of the visual images which adds depth and meaning to the end product of the magazine. In blogger I learnt how to upload and analyse my production work and write about the research done that led to the end product of my music magazine.
