Watering Lawn Areas Efficiently
For many people, a lush green garden or lawn is a representation of proud home ownership along with a
pleasant and beautiful place where one can relax. However, in order to maintain a lush green lawn, it requires
a lot of water, which dependent on where one lives, may also sometimes be short in supply. In this article, we
will talk about certain watering lawn strategies that one can use in order to minimize water usage and keep
your garden healthy.

Firstly, you need to determine whether or not your community has watering lawn restrictions. Many
communities have acted in response to water shortages by implementing rules that restrict and limit the
number of times residents can perform watering lawn every week or for how long and at what times they can
carry out the watering lawn process. If you reside in such an area, you must make sure you abide by the
restrictions.

You should water your grass or plants only when they need it. Water conservation is not the only reason why
you need to reduce the amount of water you provide your lawn. Over-watering is also bad for the health of your
garden and can lead to the development of fungus and diseases. Certain types of grass need more water than
others and factors such as temperature, humidity and wind can have a significant influence over how often
you need to carry out the watering lawn process. In order to determine whether or not your lawn needs water
accurately, you need to examine the grass. If the grass takes on a blue-gray shade and the older leaf blades
on the plant begin to curl up or wilt, it means that the grass needs water.

Sometimes, when using watering lawn systems, some water evaporates even before it makes contact with the
ground. On a hot, the amount of water that does not reach the grass is, in actuality, fairly substantial. In order
to minimize loss to water evaporation, you should use watering lawn systems between 4am to 9am when the
air is cooler and the wind is at its calmest.

Lastly, minimize water wastage by turning your watering lawn systems off while it’s raining. If your sprinkler
watering lawn system runs on a timer, purchase and install a rain sensor that automatically turns the watering
lawn system off when it starts raining. You should also avoid using watering lawn systems when it is expected
to rain later in the day in order to prevent over-watering of your lawn, garden or landscape.
