Okay! Now you have chosen to PONDER on dirt biking. Do this like a Virtual Reality where it is
happening right this very moment. Talk out loud and tell us exactly what you are doing. Tell us what
you are wearing. Tell us where you go to dirt bike. Tell us what the weather is like. Tell us step by
step what is happening. Do this until not only you feel a great sense of APPRECIATION for dirt
biking, but we can feel it too.
The United Kingdom has created a virtual-reality program to treat patients who have lost limbs and
are suffering with phantom pain. A computer-generated virtual-reality system gives patients the
illusion that their lost limb is still there. The system creates a virtual mirror image by tracing the
remaining physical limb. Patients wear a head set to see a 3D picture of themselves with both limbs.
Scientists say that initial tests have shown a reduction of feelings of phantom pain and discomfort.
The system has worked for 4 out of 5 patients that have used it. Scientists plan to test the headsets
system on more patients to see which amputees are most likely to benefit from it.
But, if you're not living the life you really want in the "real" world, why not do something about it?
Why devote your energies to some surrogate virtual reality? Has the state of the world really come
to this?
First you should take out pen and paper and make a list of all the things you like to do. Make a long
list. Add as many activities as you can think of. There are no rules about this list, it may include silly
things or things you cannot imagine would be related to a goal or purpose. You might include
hobbies like gardening, fishing, reading, knitting, video gaming, etc. Include everything you do, you
like to do, you would like to do or you have enjoyed doing in the past. You can include any jobs you
have done, are doing now, or have dreamed of doing. You can include anything that you've seen
others doing and have thought, "Gee, that looks like it would really be fun" or "she seems so fulfilled
doing that".
Upgrading a laptop isn't totally impossible, but it isn't very easy either. All laptops have some parts
that cannot be replaced at all because they are soldered to the motherboard. Chief among the
components that can't usually be replaced are CPU and Graphics cards. There are of course some
parts that can be replaced and they include gaming headset hard drive and RAM.
So, I did what most of us would do in this situation - I searched. I looked long and hard, and found
many things that said they could do what I was wanting, but in the end, they gave empty promises.
So what is the up side? Well, once you recognize that you are not addicted to food, but sad inside, it
might be easier to look at the real source of the issue. That's why I write these articles. If it were
really just about the food, then we would all be thin. But it isn't; it's about something deeper and
more personal, and we have been running from it for most of our lives. So to deal with the food and
lose the weight and maintain the loss, you will eventually have to look at what you are running from.
You can do this before, during, or after you lose it, but do it you will if you are to have any hope of
maintaining your goal weight!
