Nomadic Herders
One million Nomadic herders have been
moved from their grazing lands
Million Tibetans
It's estimated that a million Tibetans died due
to the Chinese occupation
Protests
Between March 2011 and December 2012,
more than 90 Tibetans set themselves on fire
to protest the Chinese governments rules. The
protests are still going on today
Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama called the protest "A
manifestation of the deep rooted resentment
of the Tibetan people under the present
governance."
TAR
The illiteracy rate for TAR is 45% In 2000
Decreasing
The Tibetan population Is decreasing
Monasteries
6000 monasteries were destroyed after the
Chinese Invasion
Tibetan Water Source
The Tibetan plateau holds the worlds 3rd
largest store of fresh water In a glacier form,
and feed Asia's biggest rivers. One billion
people rely on this water source
Chinese Invasion
Before the Chinese Invasion In 1949, Tibet had
its own government, currency, postal system,
language, and legal system
6 Million Tibetans
The six million Tibetans left In the world are
greatly outnumbered by the Chinese
Immigrants
Better Treatment
The Chinese Immigrants get better treatment
than the local Tibetans
Helping The Tibetans
The Chinese seem surprised at the Tibetans
anger directed at them. The Chinese like to
think that they are helping the Tibetans,
especially in economical Issues
Tibetan Demise
Beijing will wait for the now 72 year old Dalai
Lama to die, which will result in the demise of
the Tibetan protests
Chinese Rule
March, and October are the 2 months that are
symbolic months for Chinese rule
Speech
When these symbolic months come, the Dalai
Lama gives a speech about peace.
Tibetan Activist Group
On January 4th, 2008 a new Tibetan activist
group began
Tibetan Activist Group Demands
The groups demands were: The Dalai Lama's
return to Tibet as its leader, The end of
China's colonial occupation, The Release of
Tibetan Political Prisoners,To give Tibetans
back their Rights, and The Cancellation of The
2008 Beijing Olympics
Tibetan Groups
The Chinese call any Tibetan rights groups
outside of Tibet part of the Dalai clique,
meaning that they think every Tibetan rights
groups are somehow connected to the Dalai
Lama
Tibet Measurements
Tibet is 3,000 meters and 13,000 feet above
sea level land size
