5. Se han encontrado restos Arqueológicos de la Edad De Bronce, y restos de canales, que pudieron ser usados por los romanos. Archaeological remains from the Bronze Age and remains of canal which may have been used by the Romans have been found in this village
6. El origen actual del núcleo urbano corresponde a los musulmanes que dieron este nombre, que significa lugar escarpado y de difícil acceso. The origin of the present town centre comes from the Muslims who gave it this name, meaning steep or difficult acces.
7. Güejar- Sierra se sumó a “la sublebación de las Alpujarras” dificultando la victoria de Juan de Austria, pagando las consecuencias con el despoblamiento. En 1575, una vez repoblada, se crea la Junta Comunal de Güéjar Sierra, vigente en la actualidad. Güejar- Sierra joined the “Usurping of the Alpujarras”, the people made the victory of Juan de Austria a little more difficult however they paid the consecuences with the despopulation of the village. In 1575, now repopulated, a committee wich managed the communal lands of Güéjar Sierra was founded. This still exists to this day.
8. La mayor parte del territorio de Gúéjar Sierra pertenece al Parque Nacional y Natural de Sierra Nevada, en donde se encuentran las cumbres más elevadas de la península. The majority of Güéjar Sierra´s land belongs to de National and Natural Park of Sierra Nevada, wich the highest mountain tops of the Iberian Peninsula are found. Mulhacén Veleta 3.482 metros 3.398 metros La vertiente norte de estas dos cumbres pertenecen a esta localidad. The northern slopes of this two peakas belong to this village.
9. La abundancia de agua es una característica de este paisaje, que procede del deshielo. Estas aguas son la cuna del río Genil, el afluente más importante del Guadalquivir. The abundance of water is charasteristic of the landscape, wich comes from the thawing of the snow. The Genil River originates from this water, and it is the most important tributary of the Guadalquivir River.
10. Debido a su rico patrimonio natural este municipio es ideal para los deportes de la naturaleza, como senderismo, bicicleta de montaña o Parapente. Given its rich natural resources, this village is perfect for taking part in close to nature sports. as hiking, mountain bike or paragliding.
11. El casco antiguo del pueblo conserva el trazado de callejuelas estrechas y casas encaladas con rincones llenos de macetas, herencia de la arquitectura árabe. The old area of the village conserves the layout of narrow alleyed streets and whitesashed houses covered with plants, inherited from the Arabic Culture.
12. La iglesia parroquial se construyó en 1625 sobre las ruinas de la anterior, levantada en 1530, y quemada por los moriscos. Es de estilo Renacentista. The parrochial church was costructed in 1625, on top of the previous church, wich was built in 1530 and burned by the Moors. Constructed in Renaissance style.
13. Son numerosas las fuentes de agua de manantial que podemos encontrar. Numerous springs of natural Spring water exists.
14. A principios del siglo XX, el duque de San Pedro De Galantino, impulsa un original y romántico Proyecto: la construcción del Tranvía de la Sierra, Pionero en ferrocarril de montaña. En 1973, se acordó el cierre de la línea debido a la Construcción del embalse de Canales. At the beginning of the 20th cnetury, de Duke of San Pedro de Galantino motivated an original and romantic project: the construcction of a local train service, one of the pioneers with reference to Spanish mountain train services. In 1973 the Council of Ministers decided to close down the service, the main reason being the unminert construction of the Canales Reservoir.
15. Las fiestas patronales en honor de Sam Roque y Nuestra Señora del Rosario se celebran el fin de semana más cercano al 15 de Agosto. The patron saint festivals in honour of San Roque and Nuestra Señora del Rosario Are celebrated on the weekend closest to the 15 th of August.

There are elderly people who still make handicrafts with esparto grass Hay un taller de cerámica típica granadina donde las piezas se elaboran artesanalmente y se pintan a mano. There is also a ceramic workshop which makes typical ceramics of Granada. The pieces are made and painted by hand.
