2. What genre would you say the magazine is from the
colour scheme and contents articles?
 Music, especially rock music
 The brown colouring has connotations of rock music
 The title [masthead], pictures and content is about rock music
 The genre would be rock
 Darker colours/ shadows might show rock a little more

3. Do you think that the cover would be
noticeable and eye catching from a distance?
 The cover stands out well
 The colour of the title [masthead] and subtitles [cover lines] is distinctive and
different from the norm
 The border colour of the subtitles [cover lines] causes the words to blend into the
background – hard to see from a distance but could attract the reader in to find
out more
 Yes, it is eye catching
 Different coloured article headlines [cover lines] to the title [masthead] would
make it stand out more to bring in variation

4. Do you think the contents is set out as
you would expect in a magazine?
 Yes, everything is clear and concise
 Yes, it is very clearly laid out and each article is clearly defined
 The article numbers [folios] merge slightly with the pictures

5. What did you think of the photos
included?
 They’re very good
 Shows what might be in the magazine
 Good quality
 They compliment the style of the magazine
 Some annotation would be good because people might not know what they are
doing or their connection to the industry

6. What do you think of the colour scheme?
 The colour scheme is distinctive and stands out
 It works very well together
 The change of borderline colouring on the front cover makes some words hard to
read
 Maybe use some other shades of red than the main red for variation

7. What do you think of the dps image? Is it what
you’d expect from a magazine?
 Yes, it is a really good photo
 Shows clearly what THE ARTICLE IS ABOUT
 Some annotation for some context would be nice
 It clearly shows the artist mentioned
 The background is eye catching

8. Is the dps clear and readable?
 It is very clear and a good article
 An intro and outro could be used to explain the interview better
 The font stands out very well [for the pull quote]
 Maybe put the image underneath a line of text instead of between the two
 The black and white works really well
