- Offers complete services
- It's public service
- It is universal access to citizens and permanent residents
- Applied inside and outside the country
In 2006 the federal government funding was 33% of the total health expenditure in
Canada
4. In order to use the services and treatments of health in Canada, you must be a
permanent resident status
Some refugees are granted permanent resident status while in Canada and are
eligible for health care.
In Canada, you have to have health insurance because if one day you get sick
you will need to pay all the costs of the hospital and medicines, since the law does
not allow it

To request a health card you need this:
● Canadian Immigration Identification Card
● Confirmation of permanent residence (IMM 5292 Form)
● Permanent Resident Card
● Record of Landing (IMM 1000 Form)
