2. Working conditions
• I do most of my work at aircraft
manufacturers, but some is done at airfields
and military facilities. A lot of work is done at
a desk, at a computer. But some field work is
required to test designs in wind tunnels and,
or at airfields. I work a 5 day week, 40 hours a
week.
3. Pay
• I make about $120 000 a year, but I started
out at about $50 000. The amount of
schooling I took really helped.
4. Job description
• I design aircraft body parts to improve
aerodynamics, speed and agility. Lately I have
been creating new engines and propulsion
systems. I started making electronic guidance
systems.
6. Required skills
• I have always been good at math and had
extensive computer skills, science and
specifically physics are very important for this
job. I love mechanics and how things work.
7. Career Path
• I am an experienced engineer, and make the
maximum amount of pay. But I started out
small under the leadership of an experienced
engineer.

years for engineering and physics.
• Then I got a small job at an aircraft
manufacturing facility.
