The art gallery is changing its pricing structure and services for artists. It will now charge $75 per month for artists to show their work, and will provide promotional materials like prints, websites, and invitations to help artists promote their work and increase sales. The gallery has limited space for this new program and will accept a select number of artists based on an application process involving submitting images and meeting with the creative director.
1. It’s a new day at the Loft! As you know, for over 6 months we have opened the art show space to artists interested in showing their work during the First Thursday and Friday weekend. Some of you who’ve been with us from the beginning, have watched the learning experiences unfold; often learning and adapting with us along the way. We’ve truly appreciated your courage and commitment. And now it is time for us to take those experiences and apply the lessons towards a more beneficial, results-oriented strategy. In other words, we’ve listened. What does this mean for you? First, we are changing the pricing structure. We are no longer offering the separate weekend and monthly flat rates. Next, we aren’t simply offering exposure by showing on our walls. So, what are we doing? First, we are making it so that every artist who shows here is able to develop and utilize print and publicity collateral as a way to improve professionalism and sales. From invitations and art prints to websites, showing at Project ART | SHOW | SPACE will mean having something to show for it. Without having to pay more upfront for extras that don’t fit your needs. How will we accomplish this? After much consideration, we are making it so that showing artwork in Project ART | SHOW | SPACE will now be $75 monthly, with a reasonable commission fee on sales. That means your work stays up longer for less money upfront, while our in-house team develops collateral that will add long-term benefit to your career. Because of this emphasis on strategy, and the low cost of the extensive services offered, this offer is unfortunately limited to a select number of artists.
2. Here’s a list of the most FAQ concerning these changes: Can any artist apply? Yes. But unfortunately we won’t be able to accept all who apply. Are you still going to rent wall space to artists on First Friday? Not the way we have been. For the most part, wall space will be reserved for artists participating in the collateral program. Will there be a cover charge for access to our venues? No, not usually. What is the minimum amount of time that I must commit to if I am accepted into the group? Time commitment will vary by artist, according to the agreed upon scope of work. How does my monthly $75 investment help me? Labkids, our professional in-house graphic designers, will design print collateral normally available only to high end clients. That collateral will be used to promote the artist’s work currently exhibited at one of our locations. It is this type of collateral hat will most substantially benefit the individual artist in terms of career goals and sales. Further development of new, various types of collateral is likely once a certain sales rate and price have been reached. Does Project ART | SHOW | SPACE photograph artwork? Generally speaking, no. However, for use in LOFT120 collateral, this service will be available at extra cost. If accepted, will I have openings on days other than First Thursday and Friday? Yes. In fact, individual openings will be primarily on days other than those. Is there a deadline for applying? No, but our capacity to handle artists with such individualized attention is very limited.
