2. About The Author
 Hi, my name is Brenden. I
have a brother, mom,
and dad. I like baseball,
math, and football. I am
10 years old. I like polar
bears, and Vikings. My
friend is Ryan, and we like
to play football. I like to
where blue shorts, and a
Led Zeppelin shirt.

3. Who Am I?
 The polar bears know
how to pack on fat, one
polar bear can pack up
to 100 pounds of
blubber. Polar bears
have two furs for the
cold. Polar bears over
heat themselves then
cool themselves. When
bad snowstorms come,
the polar bears dig a
hole and wait there until
the storms over.

4. The female polar bears
enter special dens each fall
because they gave birth.
During that time they don’t
eat or drink anything. Once
the bears were ready to
leave their dens. Zoo staff
begin introducing them to
their new habitat in the new
American Encounter.

5. Habitat Sweet Habitat
 The polar bears live
near north, or south
pole. It is very cold
and snowy where
they live, sometimes
the weather is so
bad they have to
dig a hole and get
themselves into it
and wait until the
storms over, that’s
how bad the
weather is there.

6. What’s On The Menu?
 Polar bears mostly
eat fish, and seals.
They eat seals
because the polar
bears are one of
the biggest land
animals on Earth.
But the seals are
still little enough for
the polar bears to
eat.

7. Making Tracks
 The tracks look like
a paw and four
large nails. You
would find these
tracks in the north
pole, because they
have two big furs
on them. The paws
are large because
when he stands on
his legs he reaches
up to eight feet tall.

8. Simply Irresistible!
 If the polar bear
was a male bear
they would
weigh 1,500 tops.
That’s how much
a male polar
bear would
weigh.

9. Where in the world?
 The polar bear
would be
found at the
north pole,
because they
are use to
cold so its
really not cold
for them.
