The Notion of Right and Wrong
Introduction
In the society, it can be observed either in individual or social
lives of people that the actions of human beings are primarily
regarded as either being right or wrong. When carrying out any
activity, every individual tries their best to gauge their actions
in their own perspective on the concept of right or wrong and
the same is reflected in the society (Hollnagel 78). In the
analysis of actions of an individual and the character, they are
tallied in accordance with the determined concepts of wrong and
right which are primarily discussed and studied in ethics.
Ethics is a branch of knowledge under the philosophy of moral.
According to philosophy, morality is what considered right in
the society while the contrary is considered as immoral
(Pojman, Louis and James 108). The concept of right and wrong
used in the society to distinguish what is morally acceptable in
the society from what is not accepted is the subject to the
societal conduct and behavior. In the society, people are judged
and valued with respect to their conduct of behavior. The ability
of a person to carry out him or herself in a respectable manner
is attributed to the good actions of the person while the wrong
actions portrayed in the society are used as a foundation for
criticism and negative judgment of an individual (Hollnagel 87).
The concept of good and bad is similar to ethics in that, it
varies from one society to the other. In this context, it has been
established that what is perceived as right in one society may be
considered very wrong in another society and vice versa. The
determination of the right and wrong in the society is attributed
to the traditions and norms of the society.
The most significant thing, however, is the determination of
whether the social values and norms of the society are humane
or not and whether they conform to the basic human rights in
the society (Stevenson 157). This is with regards to the fact that
in certain societies, some conduct and activities may be
considered as morally acceptable and therefore right but may be
very discriminative in accordance with the law and basic human
rights as observed in some societies around the world. The main
question is whether such actions can be considered ethical or
not in the society.
Regarding the concept of right and wrong, many people confuse
between behaving in accordance with social conventions, the
law, religious beliefs and the ethics. Ethics is a stand-alone
concept that is a set of principles and concepts guiding the
human beings in the determination of the types of behavior that
harms or help sentient creatures. Globalization has however led
to the development of a universal code of ethics useful in the
differentiation of the bad from wrong in the world and despite
being implemented to a limited extent, the universal code of
ethics tends to invigorate the human conduct in line with the
international concepts of betterment and human rights.
According to the universal ethical standards, any action that
harms others in the society is regarded as wrong while those
that do not cause any form of harm are considered right. The
universal ethics standards affirm that the value of the life of any
individual comes first. The promulgation and implementation of
universal ethics to all societies in the world are not possible due
to the immense diversities in different societies courtesy of
cultural differences and religious beliefs and the uneven
development of social lives.
The determination of the right and the wrong in the society is
mainly a subject to the culture and religion which are also
considered as the main sources of ethics. Most of the ethical
values are derived from the basic teachings of the religions
present in the behavior of their Prophets, lives or the holy
scriptures especially the followers of different religion.
Concerning this, majority of the world’s religion define clearly
the behavior that is only accepted to that and that which they
consider right and to those that act contrary to the religious
teachings, the religion has its own system of punishing the
wrongdoers in the society to keep the ethical standards and
behaviors as stipulated in the teachings (Cooley 237). The laws
established by the legal and political institutions in the modern
society are aligned to the ensure the ethical behavior of people
in the society, however, besides the limitation of the legal
institutions to implement fully the law in its true nature, they
are not capable of implementing the ethical values fully in some
scenarios, they may contradict them
Conclusion
The differentiation of the right from the wrong in the society
depends on one’s personality and the environment where the
action is conducted. The conscience of right and wrong is
within every individual only that people’s perception and views
vary. The societal norms and traditions stipulate what is morally
accepted and what is shunned by specific population in a given
geographical area and as such facilitating socialization and
peaceful coexistence in the society through the encouragement
of good actions, behavior, and conduct of the members of the
society.

Your response should include what works and what does not in the current setting. In addition, expand on the suggestions you might offer to create the perfect training setting that would help to improve the workplace. Explain the challenges that you might face in implementing this training into the workplace. 2 pages with references Surname 3 Name: Instructor’s Name: Institution: Date: The Notion of Right and Wrong Introduction In the society, it can be observed either in individual or social

When carrying out any activity, every individual tries their best to gauge their actions in their own perspective on the concept of right or wrong and the same is reflected in the society (Hollnagel 78). In the analysis of actions of an individual and the character, they are tallied in accordance with the determined concepts of wrong and right which are primarily discussed and studied in ethics. Ethics is a branch of knowledge under the philosophy of moral. According to philosophy, morality is what considered right in the society while the contrary is considered as immoral (Pojman, Louis and James 108). The concept of right and wrong used in the society to distinguish what is morally acceptable in the society from what is not accepted is the subject to the societal conduct and behavior. In the society, people are judged and valued with respect to their conduct of behavior. The ability of a person to carry out him or herself in a respectable manner is attributed to the good actions of the person while the wrong actions portrayed in the society are used as a foundation for criticism and negative judgment of an individual (Hollnagel 87). The concept of good and bad is similar to ethics in that, it varies from one society to the other. In this context, it has been established that what is perceived as right in one society may be considered very wrong in another society and vice versa. The determination of the right and wrong in the society is attributed to the traditions and norms of the society. The most significant thing, however, is the determination of whether the social values and norms of the society are humane or not and whether they conform to the basic human rights in the society (Stevenson 157). This is with regards to the fact that in certain societies, some conduct and activities may be considered as morally acceptable and therefore right but may be very discriminative in accordance with the law and basic human rights as observed in some societies around the world. The main question is whether such actions can be considered ethical or not in the society.
  • 5. Regarding the concept of right and wrong, many people confuse between behaving in accordance with social conventions, the law, religious beliefs and the ethics. Ethics is a stand-alone concept that is a set of principles and concepts guiding the human beings in the determination of the types of behavior that harms or help sentient creatures. Globalization has however led to the development of a universal code of ethics useful in the differentiation of the bad from wrong in the world and despite being implemented to a limited extent, the universal code of ethics tends to invigorate the human conduct in line with the international concepts of betterment and human rights. According to the universal ethical standards, any action that harms others in the society is regarded as wrong while those that do not cause any form of harm are considered right. The universal ethics standards affirm that the value of the life of any individual comes first. The promulgation and implementation of universal ethics to all societies in the world are not possible due to the immense diversities in different societies courtesy of cultural differences and religious beliefs and the uneven development of social lives. The determination of the right and the wrong in the society is mainly a subject to the culture and religion which are also considered as the main sources of ethics. Most of the ethical values are derived from the basic teachings of the religions present in the behavior of their Prophets, lives or the holy scriptures especially the followers of different religion. Concerning this, majority of the world’s religion define clearly the behavior that is only accepted to that and that which they consider right and to those that act contrary to the religious teachings, the religion has its own system of punishing the wrongdoers in the society to keep the ethical standards and behaviors as stipulated in the teachings (Cooley 237). The laws established by the legal and political institutions in the modern society are aligned to the ensure the ethical behavior of people in the society, however, besides the limitation of the legal institutions to implement fully the law in its true nature, they

The conscience of right and wrong is within every individual only that people’s perception and views vary. The societal norms and traditions stipulate what is morally accepted and what is shunned by specific population in a given geographical area and as such facilitating socialization and peaceful coexistence in the society through the encouragement of good actions, behavior, and conduct of the members of the society.
