John Manlove Marketing & Communications has some good news. We are now the
marketing agency of record for The Woodlands Convention and Visitors
Bureau!
The press release below has some of the details, but this story really starts three
years ago, when we became the agency of record for The Woodlands
Development Company.
Our experience and our Creative, combined with The Woodlands’ visionary master
plan, have proven effective and award-winning. The Woodlands is the No. 1
master-planned community in Texas and has an intrinsic value rare among real
estate developments.
Now, we hope to channel that success in a slightly different way: increasing
leisure and tourist traffic in The Woodlands. We’re confident that the synergy of

TO PROMOTE TOURISM IN THE WOODLANDS
Starting in 2009, The Woodlands CVB entrusts marketing to JMMC
October 6, 2008 – The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau (TWCVB) has
named John Manlove Marketing & Communications (JMMC) its new marketing
agency of record. JMMC will now help TWCVB drive leisure and tourism traffic to
the No. 1 master-planned community in Texas.
After an RFP process that began in late May, TWCVB’s marketing committee
unanimously chose JMMC based on its creative and media capabilities, as well as
specific marketing tactics and ads developed as part of the RFP. The decision to
use JMMC has been approved by the board of directors for TWCVB.

The Woodlands has more than 5 million square feet of retail space and more than
1,400 hotel rooms. (For comparison, Houston’s Uptown District, including all of
the Galleria, has about 5 million square feet of shopping and dining.) The
Woodlands also benefits from the “green” vision behind its original master plan.
Visitors can access 110 different outdoor parks and 162 miles of biking and
walking trails.
On average, 78 percent of shoppers at The Woodlands Mall and Market Street
come from outside the area. Altogether, tourism is a $1.7 billion business in The
Woodlands. (Both statistics come from a 2008 study by The Perryman Group.)
