Avoid using the Quick Search for Articles. Look for a specialized database focusing on your subject of interest.
Business source premier This database provides full text from more than 7,400 scholarly business journals (over 1,100 are peer-reviewed) and periodicals covering management economics, finance, accounting, international business and more. Business Source Premier contains full text from the world's top business journals and is particularly strong in both management and marketing, including Harvard Business Review and California Management Review. The database also holds country economic reports from the EIU, DRI-WEFA, ICON Group and CountryWatch. Business Source Premier contains expanded indexing and abstract backfiles for 300 top scholarly business journals dating back to 1965, or the first issue published (whichever is more recent). Additional full text, non-journal content includes market research reports, industry reports from Datamonitor, country reports, company profiles and SWOT analyses.
Search terms: China AND Economic AND Reform
Be sure to select “Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals” for your graduate work and limit the number of results by date (if you want fewer). You can then sort by date or relevancy.
Exercise: find this same article using the citation: E-Journals from KU Libraries homepage. http://lib.ku.edu International Journal of Management, Vol.29 No. 1 Part 2 Mar 2012

This is the article I want. Note the “46 references” the author has used for the article. These could enhance your research of the subject.
If the article you want has only an abstract (summary) look for ways to get full text. “Get at KU” is your top choice.

Get at KU when you get the “Sorry . . .” message. Don’t give up, you can always get full-text . . . 99% of the time, anyway. Click on Request a copy from Interlibrary Loan
WebRetrieve is the library service of getting you the article you need by means of finding the article (that KU Libraries does not have) somewhere else and reproducing it. You will receive a link to the full text PDF copy of the article in your email within 24 to 48 hours.
The system populates the form upon request (you don’t have to type in the journal information yourself).
