6. PASSION IS BS
It Is In The Process You Find
The Passion You Crave.
Seek The Passionate Moments
in the Process.
7. Start Where You Are
Write a few sentences reflecting on each of the four areas
Rank where you are (0 to full) on each of the gauge
Anything that is not actionable is a gravity problem.
This can include complaining or fighting the reality. For example, “Poets just
don’t make enough money in our culture. I want to be a poet and what can I
do about it?” is a gravity problem. If you became a poet, you could fight this
“reality” by increasing demand and value of poetry in the society or door
knocking to sell your poetry.

9. THE DESIGN THINKING
APPROACH
Get in touch with what is
really going on at the
root.
EMPATHIZE
WITH THE
PROBLEM After getting
comfortable with the
emotion, get super clear
on what is going on and
name it.
DEFINE THE
PROBLEM
Imagine the best case
scenario and work out
from there based on
what you want to create
for your life.
IDEATE
SOLUTIONS
Give it a go, you will
never know until you try
and be willing to pivot
and iterate based on
what you learn.

10. BUILDING A COMPASS
Questions to Prompt your Creativity:
Why do you do what you do? How do you define your work?
Ask yourself, What gives my life meaning?
Where do your views on work and life compliment each other?
Where do they clash?
Does one drive the other?
Now That You Know “Where You Are Starting From”
Its Time To Build A Compass (A Conscious Set Of Values)
That Will Guide You Through Answering Big And
Fundamental Questions In Life.

13. Discover What Provides Energy And Drains You, And How Re-
sequencing Can Create More Joy In Your Day.
HOW CAN YOU ENJOY THE THINGS YOU
ARE DOING?

14. “IN LIFE DESIGN, MORE IS
BETTER, BECAUSE MORE IDEAS
EQUAL ACCESS TO BETTER
IDEAS, AND BETTER IDEAS
LEAD TO A BETTER DESIGN”
Always remember!

15. TO GET
UNSTUCK:
•Create a mind map for three
activities – one with the highest
engagement, highest energy,
and one which had the highest
flow
•Look at the outer ring of each
mind map and pick three
things that “jump out at you”
•Create a role for each of those
things and job description.
Also, try some sketching.

Time Journal For

SELF
•What do you value and why
•What are your goals and why

17. IN PLANNING
OUR LIVES
There are multiple different lives
that we can design and build.
To create potential alternative
plans for your life, do the
following:
• Create three alternative five-
year plans.
• Give each alternative a six word
title and write three questions
that arise.
Note how you get energized by
each alternative.
Lindsey Rainwater| FIBO 2019
18. PROTOTYPING
Questions To help answer those questions, plan for:
Prototype Conversations – Have conversations with
other people (their life story or life design) who have
traveled a similar path.
Experiences – Have experiences that will make you
learn through direct encounters.
These can include, unpaid internship, volunteering,
personal projects, etc. If stuck, get feedback from
someone else to guide you.
With Your Alternative Life Plans, Its Time
To Prototype And Gather Info On Your
Plans.
19. AWARENESS
Dave Evens, Designing the life of your dreams
“Is key to life design, and this is true especially
when you are designing your career. If you are
aware of the process involved in hiring, in writing
job descriptions, in reading resumes, in
interviewing (from the employer’s perspective),
your success rate in getting a job offer goes way
up.”
20. When designing your dream
job, reframe your thinking.
Stop thinking that there is a
destination of a “dream job” out
there waiting for you.
Rather, you come across your
dream job through a process of
actively self-reflecting
Stop viewing yourself as
someone looking for job.
Instead have the mindset of
“looking for offers” that allow
you to explore and get closer to
the dream job.
DESIGNING YOUR
DREAM JOB
21. Don’t aim to make the
right choice every single
time but rather
a better choice that is
informed through your
self-reflection.
Don’t confuse happiness
with having it all! Rather,
happiness is letting go of
things you don’t need or
like.
Don’t agonize over
decision. Be decisive and
informed in your decision
making

23. Bijou Solutions, Inc. | 2020
People with a fixed mindset
believe that their traits are just
given.
They have a certain amount of
brains and talent and nothing
can change that.
If they have a lot, they’re all
set, but if they don’t… So
people in this mindset
worry about their traits and
how adequate they are.
They have something to
prove to themselves and
others.

See their qualities as things
that can be developed
through their dedication
and effort.
Sure they’re happy if
they’re brainy or talented,
but that’s just the starting
point.
They understand that no

25. FAILURE
IMMUNITY
To build a failure immunity:
Log your failures to extract the
most insight from them
Build a habit of converting failures
to growth by doing this once or
twice a month
26. Building a Team of
mentors and friends that you can reach out for help and reflection.
BUILD A TEAM OF MENTORS
Barely do we ever overcome obstacles alone, thus, reach out to people you trust to
guide you along the way.
REACH OUT FOR HELP
Create Practices for yourself....
