takes
its
name
from
three
of
the
"oceanic
forma:ons"
of
the
sen:ent
planet
Solaris,
as
described
by
Stanislav
Lem
in
his
1961
novel
of
the
same
name.
The
work
employs
a
scrolling
score
allowing
for
coordina:on
of
complex
and
con:nuously
evolving
structures.
The
original
string
quartet
version
of
the
work,
premiered
earlier
this
year,
is
here
augmented
by
piano
and
electronic
processing
of
the
acous:c
instruments.
The score scrolls from left to right. The notation is
proportional and principally graphical.
Each of the four instruments is colour coded.
