Like many other Olympic sports, swimming is done
by a few star atheletes.
When they are in the water the swim suit helps
Then glide through the water in a zig zag pattern.
Now: they glide through the water more easily
Before: Dragged back through the water
5. Changes in the sprint suits
• In 1904 tribesman ran along the track in a coloured
• t-shirt and heavy shorts.
• This sort of bulky track outfit made it very hard to
run in.
• Now: The athletes ran faster because of the tighter
uniform.
• Then: Baggy uniforms which can trip them over; they
could easily loose they race
7. Changes in the cycling uniforms
• The cycling uniforms are now a tight fit so they
can glide through the air on their bikes more
easily.
• Now: They wear tight uniforms to help them
move more easily.
• Then: (they didn’t cycle back in the Ancient
Games)
