Importance Of Mathematics In Our Daily Life
Mathematics is a subject with its own dignity and pride. Mathematics has a strong position in field
of science and technology as well as it is the significant subject in our human life. With its greater
importance, students insisted on learning mathematics from their childhood. Lack of mathematical
knowledge and skill could not make a man to progress in life since it is required in our everyday
life. Many students are considered underachievers in mathematics because of few teacher related,
personal and environmental reasons. These reasons became barriers in learning and teaching of
mathematics. The root of teaching and learning of mathematics should be firmly kept since lower
age. If not, the learning will not be as expected one.
Keywords: mathematics, teaching, learning, barriers.
1.0 Introduction

the knowledge of mathematics is important. In the rapidly changing world and in the era of
technology, mathematics plays an essential role. To understand the mechanized world and match
with the newly developing information technology knowledge in mathematics is vital. Mathematics
is the mother of all sciences. Without the knowledge of mathematics, nothing is possible in the
world. The world cannot progress without mathematics. Mathematics fulfills most of the human
needs related to diverse aspects of everyday life. Mathematics has been accepted as significant

Essay On Secret Service
There are many federal agencies in play in the United States government. Each agency is important
in ensuring that the governemnt runs smoothly and effectively. One example of a federal agency
that is crucial to the governemnt is the United States Secret Service. The secret service is a premier
federal law enforcement agency that has multiple uses. The agency has evolved over the years, and
now has over 7000 employees. It operates in a secretive way to ensure the protection of financial and
critical infrastructure of the United States, while also protecting the nation's leaders.

Human Services Essay
Human services professionals are those who facilitate and empower those in society who require
assistance in meeting their basic human needs both emotionally, mentally, and physically. Human
services professionals work with diverse cultures in many different settings to provide prevention,
education, and resources for individuals, families, groups and communities. Some of the populations
served are, children and families, adolescents, and the homeless. To support groups in crisis human
services professionals must be committed, patient, possess listening skills, and have an ability to be
empathetic without reducing one's ability to be empowered (Martin, 2011). Children and families

Putting food on the table may become a difficult task putting the family at risk for hunger (Martin,
2011).
Ways in which human services professionals can meet the needs of families and children are to
actively listen to each individual's perception of the problem and address each issue. If the
worker is qualified to provide counseling sessions, such as a marriage and family therapist, single
members in addition to the family as a whole should receive services. Referrals should be given to
the family if the worker cannot provide counsel (Martin, 2011). A family social worker can assist
in providing resources for food, medical, housing, child care and utility assistance, support in filling
out appropriate paperwork should be offered as well. Professionals can offer referrals to legal
assistance offices in order for a single parent to obtain child support. Informing those in this
population of the means for furthering their education can help them regain their independence. A
school social worker may be appropriate for those children suffering in their academics due to
family matters so they can provide support for the child and to determine what further resources
are needed (O*Net Online, 2010). Child welfare investigators as well as health care social workers
may have to provide investigations as well as working with other professionals to assess patients'

English 112 Week 1 Reflection
In this portfolio, I have included a variety of pieces that displays my strengths and weaknesses in
my work. As I come to the end of the semester and reflect on my work in your English 112 class, I
can see how I improved as a writer. English 112 has taught me many things and has helped me
develop more skills as a reader. I have completed several assignments this semester such as readings,
journals, multiple essays, and an oral presentation. My portfolio includes "All in the Family",
"Trapped Treasures", "A Student Is More Than a Number", a chosen revision of "Trapped
Treasures", my journals reflection, my personal essay reflections, my annotated bibliography, and
lastly my self–assessment sheet.

My Writing Experience
Reading and writing has always created a sense of understanding for me in my art. Reading in the
literal sense is a way that we understand text or symbols in our minds which in turn create meaning.
Writing also in a literal sense is our way of communicating our knowledge and emotions to others
through symbols in text. The human experience for all people includes communication and through
reading and writing this experience is created. From the beginning of this course, my only prior
experience with reading and writing were high school level course over literature and reading. I had
an average level of rhetoric, reading, writing and language overall however, understanding the
significance of these subjects was never put forth in such a way until I took this course. I discovered
through this course that reading is a combination of not only our "visual information" but also our
"nonvisual information". My comprehension of reading has evolved from reading...show more

I feel that organization is both a strength and a weakness in my writing. Free writing is something
that helped me gain a better sense of my ideas and through this I was able to create more structured
ideas. However, the formation of a structurally sound essay that contains writing that flows was
extremely difficult for myself. Fluidity was a challenge throughout my time in this course, but is
was also something that created a better voice in my writing. The understanding of reading and
writing in this course was extremely meaningful for me and made a huge impact on my writing
overall. Writing motivates me and inspires me in my own work to create stories and share with
others what I feel is memorable and should be shared. Although it may never be something perfect,
writing is something I wish to continue improving on and creating in order to share with

"Volunteers are not paid; not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless."– Sherry
Anderson (Volunteering Quotes: Finest Quotes). On average, when people think about community
service, they assume that volunteering is just 'hours we need to be able to graduate' and that is it.
Community service is more than just hours; community service is based on the acts performed by
someone with the purpose of helping or bringing benefits to his or her community. People frequently
compare community service as a punishment since it is often offered to small–time offenders as an
alternative to fines or jail time. However, community service is the vital force to many communities

Volunteering in your community helps solve many dilemmas in your community that descend
through the eyes of government and social agencies (Everything you ever wanted to know about
volunteering). Discussing about volunteering to teenagers should be the first step for a better life,
since teenagers are the future of tomorrow and they will leave a mark from yesterday. Volunteering
has been such an important matter, that schools in many countries around the world established that
12th grade students will need certain hours of community service in order to graduate. But the
frequent answers all the schools are getting are "Why do I need to volunteer? I have better things to
do!" What people are forgetting is that each one of them is part of a community, a community that is
not perfect and that the government sometimes forgets about their problems or needs, because
obviously the government needs to take care of other things that require more attention. People are
not only helping others, they are also helping themselves (Volunteering). Volunteering is not a new
subject now, but people did not perceive it before because as time goes by, volunteering is becoming
more and more popular since each year more people volunteer. Volunteering began around the early
19th century since America was experimenting with the Great Awakening. The Great Awakening
was a period in which the importance of the church was slowly dying and instead the

Importance of Customer Service
Introduction
Today's organizations fail to realize the value of their customers when it comes to the success of their
business. Without customer loyalty the success of your business will always be uncertain.
Organizations must sensitively tailor the designs of a successful firm to the particular challenges of
understanding, attracting, and keeping valuable customers. "Having satisfied customers just aren't
good enough". Kenneth Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, co–authors of Raving Fans, believe this
concept is needed to have a successful business. I agree with this concept of customers being the
focal point of any business. I would want more than just a satisfied customer; I want a "Raving Fan".

Discover What the Customer Wants
After creating your vision, try to discover what the customer wants or what their vision is. The
customer will focus on just one or two things and it will be up to you to fill in the gap with your
vision. You will then pick and choose which ideas you want to use to complete or build up your
vision. Not every idea of the customer will be used or has to be used. Some ideas may not be
feasible or even applicable to what you have envisioned.
Deliver the Vision Plus One Percent
This is where the vision becomes reality; make it happen just as you envisioned it. Work out the
bugs and keep doing what ever it takes to make this vision come alive. Start out with something
small that you know you can maintain and be consistent with it. Once you have mastered that idea,
add to it, make it better by just one percent. Continue to do this with each new idea, always
producing better ideas by one percent. This way the customer is not promised something that you
will not deliver and you're not promising something too big or complex to consistently follow
through with. Consistency is critical; it creates credibility.
Conclusion
I have always believed customers are the focal point of any business. I found that having satisfied
customers does not mean you are doing a good job. It may mean the customers are satisfied
because their expectations are so low and there is no one else doing any better. Having

Reflection On My Writing Skills
Reflection
My writing skills which I have worked on over the few months I have been in English 102 have
changed quite a bit in my opinion. There are many things which I have improved upon that were
amongst my weaker writing skills when the year began. On the opposite side of that point, there are
also many things which I still need to improve upon if I want to truly elevate my writing to a level
that I will be confident in. Finally, I have gained new skills outside of writing from this class,
particularly the activities which we did in class at various points throughout the year. These things
all cumulate together to give me an appreciation of English courses which I did not previously have.
Throughout this semester there are many skills that I have noticed have improved through the
constant writing of essays for this class. The one that I find most noticeable is a habit I had long
struggled with which was essentially my tendency to be over necessarily wordy when writing my
essays. I believe that I was able to somewhat fix this subconsciously, just by knowing that I was no
longer in high school, and could no longer get by with just attempting to fill up my word count. I
also believe I have greatly improved in my topic selection. In high school I would throw caution to
the wind and just pick whatever topic came to mind just in an effort to get it done. I have been
much more calculated in college, and I believe that it has helped me write better essays. While these

Self–Analysis
Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical
procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not
allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for
simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread.
My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing
because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer.
In my writing, I have many strengths, some that which I have developed through this course and
some that I already had. Before this...show more content...
I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other
elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve
many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming
better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the
little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end.
This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it
will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities
to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing,
analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how
to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes
because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate
sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along
because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better
grades.
Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I
know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. My strengths that I already had as

Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of
the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer
loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between
customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also
when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction?
It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business
today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the
same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously...show more content...
Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important
first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company
one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well
as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a
business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is
to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to
make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer
service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new
customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's
essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more.
Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs,
Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. Another
way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you
have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and
loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must

CT interpret effective leadership as affected by situational variables, including the followers, work
environment and tasks, and the external environment (Daft, 2005, p.111). CT includes Fiedler's
proposal of predominance and interaction between relationship or taskoriented leadership styles, as
well as Hersey and Blanchard's focus on the characteristics of followers as producing favorable or

The company's creams inventory remains constant because it does not follow a trend in
innovation and changes so often as the other products. The surplus in inventory is a big
disadvantage since; last year's products may not be in style this year in addition to the cost of
storage. For all these reasons their cash flow is less in comparison with previous years causing that

and their cash flow would increase. (Hopkins, 2009)

Telecommunications Essay
What is Telecommunications?
Telecommunications enables people around the world to contact one another, to access information
instantly, and to communicate from remote areas. It usually involves a sender and one or more
recipients linked by a technology, such as a telephone system, or computer network (LANs or
WANs), that transmits information from one place to another. Devices used for telecommunications
can convert different types of information, such as sound and video, into electronic signals. These
signals then can be transmitted to different types of media such as telephone wires, or radio waves.
Once the signal reaches its destination it then gets converted back into an understandable message,

One way to categorize telecommunications media is to consider whether or not the media uses
wires. Wire–based (or wireline) telecommunications provide the initial link between most telephones
and telephone networks and are reliable means of transmitting messages. Telecommunications
without wires, commonly referred to as wireless communications, use technologies such as cordless
telephones, cellular radio telephones, walkie–talkies, citizen band (CB) radios, pagers, and satellites.
Wireless communications offer complete mobility and flexibility.
Individual people, businesses, and governments use many different types of telecommunications
systems. Some systems, such as the telephone system, use a network of cables, wires, and switching
stations for point–to–point communication. Other systems, such as radio and television, broadcast
signals through space that can be received by anyone who has a device to receive them. Some
systems make use of several types of media to complete a transmission. For example, a telephone
call may travel by means of copper wire, fiber–optic cable, and radio waves as the call is sent from
sender to receiver. All telecommunications systems are constantly evolving as telecommunications
technology improves. Many businesses also communicate through LANs and WANs. Without
telecommunications in the world, many large businesses would not have the ability to communicate
with other offices within the company in

Orthodontics deals with the straightening of the teeth and perfecting the bite.
Periodontics deals with gum disease and bone loss. Endodontics which specializes in root canals.

prosthodontics which specializes in replacing missing teeth with permanent fixtures, and

Once out of school, dentists will often shadow a dentist already in practice. Whether this means
becoming a partner in the practice or just learning the tricks of the trade, it is not uncommon for an
already practicing dentist to become a mentor to a recent graduate. For those recent graduates that
are not ready to open their own practice, healthcare networks often offer dental jobs in smaller cities
and the Air Force offers dental jobs all over the United States.
It was discovered that dentists generally work on an average of four to five days a week. Dentists
work considerably more hours when their practice is newly developing.
Almost all dentists work in a private dental practice with a small number of staff including
hygienists, assistants, and front office personnel. Dentists are expected to provide insurance and
benefits to all of their employees. In the year 2002 dentists held about 152,000 jobs . This number
continues to increase as the demand for dental care

documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I

The Importance of Integrity Essay
Integrity is how somebody lives their life. In this life we live, we face choices every day that only
we can answer. We dictate how we run our own lives, and they way we run them defines us.
Integrity is doing the right thing versus the wrong thing. People, if nothing else, can always have
their pride, their integrity. It is something that means a lot to some people and then nothing to
others. The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the
opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity. Integrity has been defined as "Moral
soundness; honesty; freedom from corrupting influence or motive" by a good friend of mine and
college graduate. The dictionary describes it as "Unimpaired,...show more content...
If we're all forced to comply, we would have a much safer world. Nobody forces us to do anything,
and that is the point. Our personal integrity can only be formed by one person: ourselves. Nobody
can control out integrity. They can try to sway it (and they do almost daily), but they can not
change it unless we allow it to be changed. Integrity is absolutely vital to a community. If a
community as a whole, coherent, machine does not have morals, it will be a very bad
community. The people in it will not flourish, the kids will grow up bad, and it will be a
continuous cycle of immorality. Is a community has no integrity, it brings down the whole area
around it. We tend to define this as "the bad part of town." Integrity is very important on a college
campus. College is a synonym for the word "freedom." You live on your own, and the only people
you answer to is the school or the police. So it is up to you to make the decisions that are right for
your life. Because even more so in college, where you live with your friends, are there choices to
be made every single day. And they all could effect your life. Without integrity on a college
campus, you have anarchy, because there are very few consequences in most situations. If there is
a huge party and somebody decides he wants to do something bad, usually it is impossible to tell
who did it because it is a party and there are usually a lot of things going on. Obviously, one of the

A Career as a Social Worker Essay
A social worker has a very important job. Social workers help children and families in need of
food, homes, and health care. They help children have a brighter future. There are many different
types of social work. There are mental health, child and family, elementary, and high school social
workers. There are advantages to being a social worker. One example is social workers get to save
children. They take the child or children out of an abusive home, weather that is mental abuse, or

the home right then in that moment, or wait. Also when becoming a social worker, the job will
require that everyone who is involved in the situation is receiving help. According to the Child
Care Careers book this may include giving individual help to every person in the situation. Such
as, if the mother is a drug addict, she may require some rehab. Or if the father is very ill, he will
need medical attention. Or if the parent(s) and a little insane or have brain trouble, they might
need to go to an insane asylum. Every person involved in the situation needs individual "game

the problem he or she may have. This may include medicine, medical attention, schooling, or even
jail. For the child this might include schooling, medical attention, or even foster homes. To be in
this field of work, a proper education is required. The Child Care Career Book says "a masters
degree in social work is needed if this person would like to go into the mental health, research, or
supervisory positions". It also states that, "A doctorate id required for teaching and desirable for

children are given the opportunity to be around other children so that they can acquire vital

my small elementary school, we had a day every year where those with different disabilities could
come and play games with us and we got to interact with them. I always enjoyed being able to talk
and play with them, and I thought I wanted to become a Special Education teacher. After a few years
of searching more information about this field and help from my mom, I determined that I would
not like to teach. Instead, I learned about Speech–Language Pathology. While it is not exactly the
same field, I would still be able to work with those with different abilities and all ages. After I
graduate from high school at the end of this year, I hope

Essay about Training and Development
Training and development has become increasingly essential to the success of modern organisations,
yet some still look at training as a problem or as something that is not taken seriously. Training and
development is one key approach used by organisations to improve and maintain the capabilities of
its workforce. However, many experts distinguish between training and development, being that
training tends to be more closely focused and adapted towards short–term performance concerns,
while development tends to be adapted more towards expanding an individual's skills for future
responsibilities (Snell and Bohlander 2007). The main reason that organisations train their
employees is to bring their knowledge, skills and abilities up to the...show more content...
Furthermore, spoiled work, damages, and accidents to equipment and machinery can be kept to a
minimum by well trained employees, continued training helps employees develop their ability to
learn by adapting themselves to new work methods, learning to use new kinds of equipment, and
adjusting to major changes in work relationships and job content, also, through training, new
employees learn to measure up to standards for performance, thereby satisfying their human need for
personal growth and increasing their value to the organisation (Pigors and Myers 1977).
Similarly, Longenecker and Fink (2005) assert that the benefits derived from training are manifold,
and these include; exposure to new and better practices and ideas for application, leads to reflection,
self–appraisal and retrospection, motivates employees to improve performance, encourages career
development planning, helps identify specific performance problems and challenges an employee to
think differently, to name a few. Other benefits are a more flexible workforce, improved
performance of existing employees, decreased supervision, higher skill levels and reduced learning
time, thus reducing learning costs, improved organisation morale, and to ensure for succession
(Molander 1989).

Experience Of Writing
Writing, it has it's good, and it's bad. Regardless of who you are however, you have had an
experience with it. College, High School, Middle School, etc. We all have written something at
some point in our lives. Personally I haven't been exposed to massive amounts of writing outside
of school although, I do enjoy writing songs. There's many different types from Novels, Poetry,
Music, all the way to texting. Most people I feel enjoy writing and as do I. I enjoy writing for a few
reasons,One. It allows me to relieve stress or anything on my mind and keep sane. I have a
journal to keep track of days for later memories and I add to it every day. I have a few experiences
worth sharing as well. One of my first experiences seriously writing is when, I was in Highschool,
and had to write a speech. I spent four days writing this speech. Although it wasn't what you would
call outstandingly fun. The speech was for my graduation on the last day of school BSEP. BSEP
was a project all seniors had to complete and pass to graduate. I have been out of school for two
years since that experience....show more content...
I began writing songs about a year ago. The drive really came out of nowhere I wasn't in a very
good place emotionally. Since I was feeling kind of down I began to write songs mostly R&B and
as well as Hip Hop. Writing these however doesn't require much punctuation. I write a lot of
songs, and I have compiled about 30 total in the past year. I get a lot of good feedback from the
people who have heard them but I am very skittish about singing in front of people. I mostly do it
for self satisfaction in my own head it helps me relax. I'm also building a skill that might one day
turn out to become something

Example Essay
My Core Values
As I have grown as an adult and moved further towards success in my life, I have always
maintained a guided structure to achieve goals and tasks that challenge me. I call these my "Core
Values". This is a strict regimen or a belief system that I have instilled into my everyday practice to
complete any task that presents itself. Although not perfected, I have found this method to be quite
successful. My work ethic, responsibility, and my drive to further my education and knowledge
have never failed me. Life can seem tough and demanding on a very consistent basis, but I believe
that I have cultivated a plan to accommodate and withstand any trial
The first...show more content...
To build responsibility as a child I volunteered to take care of my family dog. Even though she was
the family's pet I took it upon myself to make sure she was properly fed, watered, and walked. My
mother was very proud of my new development as an adolescent. She became very encouraging
and would come up with other special chores around the house that I could be relied upon to
handle. To some children this would seem like a punishment, but both of my parents were so
supportive and persuasive that I looked forward to having the gained accountability. My father
instituted honesty and respect as monuments for responsibility. I of course struggled at times
with taking care of my dog, and handling some of my other chores. But my father always wanted
me to not only be honest with my parents, but also with myself. He stated that a lie would not
benefit anybody and it was disrespectful to tell a lie. He would tell me that a liar was the same as
a cheater, and nobody liked either. If I knew how to respect others and be honest, than my
responsibility would only increase. I asked why I would want added responsibility and my father
told me two things that changed my perspective completely. First, it was that responsible people
always tended to be more successful. Since I had always dreamed of growing up to be rich and
famous, I guess I could accept the added responsibility. The second thing he told me was that one
day I could possibly

Essay Community Service Project Reflection
The thought of community service was a bore to me before I began my volunteer work. I dreaded
starting my community service although I knew I had to do it. Where I earned my hours did not
even matter to me. I just wanted to get it over with. To my surprise it was not what I expected.
Community service was not a painful experience; it was a very enjoyable and beneficial experience.
I performed my community service with Habitat for Humanity. The non‐profit organization
chooses the applicant that purchases the house and Habitat only charges them the cost of the
materials. Almost every worker is a volunteer so Habitat for Humanity does not have to pay a high
amount of wages. I felt good about myself being one of those volunteers. The future...show more

We shared many laughs and stories while we worked. It was satisfying to help improve these
people's lives.
I took pleasure in how much I learned at Habitat for Humanity. We were doing construction so
many tools were involved. On my first day I was unaware of the names of most tools. Learning the
names and functions of each tool was exciting. Being a male, I felt more confident knowing these
things. Construction involves math and clever thinking as well. On my first day I just watched as
the processes took place. Eventually, I was helping make the decisions. I even helped a volunteer
build a fence and make precise measurements. The education about construction will benefit me for
the rest of my life.
The amount of respect I earned was an incomparable benefit that I received from community
service. Oil companies volunteered their employees on Saturdays and I spoke with all of them.
They recognized my enrollment and scholarship achievements. Some of them see me and
recognize me around town and they ask about how my goals are going. I met people who made a
huge positive impact on my life. Employees without a college education worked full time at
Habitat for Humanity, and I realized what I do not want to do with my life. During lunch breaks I
spoke with the supervisor, Alynda Best, and she explained to me the significance of hard work in
college. Most importantly, I met the lady who made this opportunity possible for me and she

On average, when people think about community service, they assume that volunteering is just 'hours we need to be able to graduate' and that is it. Community service is more than just hours; community service is based on the acts performed by someone with the purpose of helping or bringing benefits to his or her community. People frequently compare community service as a punishment since it is often offered to small–time offenders as an alternative to fines or jail time. Volunteering in your community helps solve many dilemmas in your community that descend through the eyes of government and social agencies (Everything you ever wanted to know about volunteering). Discussing about volunteering to teenagers should be the first step for a better life, since teenagers are the future of tomorrow and they will leave a mark from yesterday. Volunteering has been such an important matter, that schools in many countries around the world established that 12th grade students will need certain hours of community service in order to graduate. But the frequent answers all the schools are getting are "Why do I need to volunteer? I have better things to do!" What people are forgetting is that each one of them is part of a community, a community that is not perfect and that the government sometimes forgets about their problems or needs, because obviously the government needs to take care of other things that require more attention. People are not only helping others, they are also helping themselves (Volunteering). Volunteering is not a new subject now, but people did not perceive it before because as time goes by, volunteering is becoming more and more popular since each year more people volunteer. Volunteering began around the early 19th century since America was experimenting with the Great Awakening. • 7. Importance of Customer Service Essay example Importance of Customer Service Introduction Today's organizations fail to realize the value of their customers when it comes to the success of their business. Without customer loyalty the success of your business will always be uncertain. Organizations must sensitively tailor the designs of a successful firm to the particular challenges of understanding, attracting, and keeping valuable customers. "Having satisfied customers just aren't good enough". Kenneth Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, co–authors of Raving Fans, believe this concept is needed to have a successful business. I agree with this concept of customers being the focal point of any business. I would want more than just a satisfied customer; I want a "Raving Fan". ...show more content... Discover What the Customer Wants After creating your vision, try to discover what the customer wants or what their vision is. The customer will focus on just one or two things and it will be up to you to fill in the gap with your vision. You will then pick and choose which ideas you want to use to complete or build up your vision. Not every idea of the customer will be used or has to be used. Some ideas may not be feasible or even applicable to what you have envisioned. Deliver the Vision Plus One Percent This is where the vision becomes reality; make it happen just as you envisioned it. Work out the bugs and keep doing what ever it takes to make this vision come alive. Start out with something small that you know you can maintain and be consistent with it. Once you have mastered that idea, add to it, make it better by just one percent. Continue to do this with each new idea, always producing better ideas by one percent. This way the customer is not promised something that you will not deliver and you're not promising something too big or complex to consistently follow through with. Consistency is critical; it creates credibility. Conclusion I have always believed customers are the focal point of any business. I found that having satisfied customers does not mean you are doing a good job. It may mean the customers are satisfied because their expectations are so low and there is no one else doing any better. Having Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Reflection On My Writing Skills Reflection My writing skills which I have worked on over the few months I have been in English 102 have changed quite a bit in my opinion. There are many things which I have improved upon that were amongst my weaker writing skills when the year began. On the opposite side of that point, there are also many things which I still need to improve upon if I want to truly elevate my writing to a level that I will be confident in. Finally, I have gained new skills outside of writing from this class, particularly the activities which we did in class at various points throughout the year. These things all cumulate together to give me an appreciation of English courses which I did not previously have. Throughout this semester there are many skills that I have noticed have improved through the constant writing of essays for this class. The one that I find most noticeable is a habit I had long struggled with which was essentially my tendency to be over necessarily wordy when writing my essays. I believe that I was able to somewhat fix this subconsciously, just by knowing that I was no longer in high school, and could no longer get by with just attempting to fill up my word count. I also believe I have greatly improved in my topic selection. In high school I would throw caution to the wind and just pick whatever topic came to mind just in an effort to get it done. I have been much more calculated in college, and I believe that it has helped me write better essays. While these were the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

From taking this course I have been able to improve many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end. This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities to proofread. By knowing how to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better grades. The most important first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more. Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs, Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. Another way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. Telecommunications enables people around the world to contact one another, to access information instantly, and to communicate from remote areas. It usually involves a sender and one or more recipients linked by a technology, such as a telephone system, or computer network (LANs or WANs), that transmits information from one place to another. Devices used for telecommunications can convert different types of information, such as sound and video, into electronic signals. These signals then can be transmitted to different types of media such as telephone wires, or radio waves. One way to categorize telecommunications media is to consider whether or not the media uses wires. Wire–based (or wireline) telecommunications provide the initial link between most telephones and telephone networks and are reliable means of transmitting messages. Telecommunications without wires, commonly referred to as wireless communications, use technologies such as cordless telephones, cellular radio telephones, walkie–talkies, citizen band (CB) radios, pagers, and satellites. Wireless communications offer complete mobility and flexibility. Individual people, businesses, and governments use many different types of telecommunications systems. Some systems, such as the telephone system, use a network of cables, wires, and switching stations for point–to–point communication. Other systems, such as radio and television, broadcast signals through space that can be received by anyone who has a device to receive them. Some systems make use of several types of media to complete a transmission. For example, a telephone call may travel by means of copper wire, fiber–optic cable, and radio waves as the call is sent from sender to receiver. All telecommunications systems are constantly evolving as telecommunications technology improves. Many businesses also communicate through LANs and WANs. We dictate how we run our own lives, and they way we run them defines us. Integrity is doing the right thing versus the wrong thing. People, if nothing else, can always have their pride, their integrity. It is something that means a lot to some people and then nothing to others. The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity. Integrity has been defined as "Moral soundness; honesty; freedom from corrupting influence or motive" by a good friend of mine and college graduate. The dictionary describes it as "Unimpaired,...show more content... If we're all forced to comply, we would have a much safer world. Nobody forces us to do anything, and that is the point. Our personal integrity can only be formed by one person: ourselves. Nobody can control out integrity. They can try to sway it (and they do almost daily), but they can not change it unless we allow it to be changed. Integrity is absolutely vital to a community. If a community as a whole, coherent, machine does not have morals, it will be a very bad community. The people in it will not flourish, the kids will grow up bad, and it will be a continuous cycle of immorality. Is a community has no integrity, it brings down the whole area around it. We tend to define this as "the bad part of town." Integrity is very important on a college campus. College is a synonym for the word "freedom." You live on your own, and the only people you answer to is the school or the police. So it is up to you to make the decisions that are right for your life. Because even more so in college, where you live with your friends, are there choices to be made every single day. And they all could effect your life. Without integrity on a college campus, you have anarchy, because there are very few consequences in most situations. They help children have a brighter future. There are many different types of social work. There are mental health, child and family, elementary, and high school social workers. There are advantages to being a social worker. One example is social workers get to save children. They take the child or children out of an abusive home, weather that is mental abuse, or physical abuse. Or if the father is very ill, he will need medical attention. Or if the parent(s) and a little insane or have brain trouble, they might need to go to an insane asylum. Being self–sufficient is a positive attribute that any individual can learn in their lives, and that is a very good quality that an individual can learn especially at a very young age. In life it is healthy to make lasting relationships, and to socialize with other people. It is important that children are given the opportunity to be around other children so that they can acquire vital communication and social skills. "Even with siblings, you can't match the opportunities for social interaction that a child has at day care in the home. Your child will be placed in a class with children close in age and have opportunities to play and negotiate with peers each day" (Cerbasi). My daughter is 3 years old and she is an only child. Day care is something that I would love to put our child in, because for just even a couple hours a week she can be around other children and have a socialization experience she will emotionally need while being around others her own age. This is a valuable experience that we can't give her at home. Doctor Heins suggests, "Play is very important, but the serious aspect is that we have to get along in a social structure" (Burgess). For parents with only one child, day care can be a great option for a place where their child will be able to socialize with other children their own age, enabling the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Training and development is one key approach used by organisations to improve and maintain the capabilities of its workforce. However, many experts distinguish between training and development, being that training tends to be more closely focused and adapted towards short–term performance concerns, while development tends to be adapted more towards expanding an individual's skills for future responsibilities (Snell and Bohlander 2007). Furthermore, spoiled work, damages, and accidents to equipment and machinery can be kept to a minimum by well trained employees, continued training helps employees develop their ability to learn by adapting themselves to new work methods, learning to use new kinds of equipment, and adjusting to major changes in work relationships and job content, also, through training, new employees learn to measure up to standards for performance, thereby satisfying their human need for personal growth and increasing their value to the organisation (Pigors and Myers 1977). Similarly, Longenecker and Fink (2005) assert that the benefits derived from training are manifold, and these include; exposure to new and better practices and ideas for application, leads to reflection, self–appraisal and retrospection, motivates employees to improve performance, encourages career development planning, helps identify specific performance problems and challenges an employee to think differently, to name a few.
