The CEOs for Cities’ Annual Workshop is an event which brings multi-sector leaders together from across the country. With the overarching goal to promote a more collaborative civic culture, the workshops succeed through a series of panel discussions, break-out sessions, lectures and roundtables. Attendees are also invited to enjoy other events, meals and field trips conveniently scheduled in celebration of the host city. The 2015 workshop was held June 10-12, 2015 in beautiful Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Applications are reviewed and evaluated according to the City's
strategic goals as presented in PlaNYC and site-specific criteria,
including:
a.Open space: whether or not the neighborhood lacked open space
b.Site context: the proposed site's relationship to surrounding land
uses and businesses, proximity to transit, the presence of significant
view corridors or historic sites, and pedestrian activity
a.Community initiative: the extent to which the applicant had
developed a community plan, consensus for the site, and garnered
local support
b.Organizational capacity: the extent to which the applicant is willing
and able to program activities, maintain, operate and manage the plaza
once it is built
•Income eligibility: applicants received additional points for proposals
located in neighborhoods that qualify as low- or moderate-income
