Sam Houston MST Center Technology Action Plan Technology Improvement Goal:  To improve the instructional use and structure of the technology on campus and increase the STaR Chart Key Areas from Developing Tech to Advanced Tech.

Outcome of results from the SETDA, reflective discussions and how teachers utilized the data. Wednesday (early dismissal day) First day of school Funds: None Time: 30 – 45 minutes People: Teachers to take the survey and Administrators. Materials: copies of results of survey. Administrator, Dean of Technology and Dean of Instruction Action Step 1:  Evaluate teachers’ knowledge of the technology and its uses and their knowledge on how to integrate it during instruction as well as what they know about the school’s infrastructure by having them complete the State Educational Technology Directors Association Survey (SETDA).  Review STaR Chart data to inform teachers of its usefulness and how AEIS data is affected as well as identify the technology goals of the CIP. ISTE   /NETS*A   Connection-Visionary Leadership:   “…  inspire and facilitate among all stakeholders a shared vision of purposeful change that maximizes use of digital-age resources to meet and exceed learning goals, support effective instructional practice…” [1] Evaluation How will success be determined? Time: 1-day for survey, 3 hours to review results and provide feedback People: 4 students and 6 teachers, 2 from each grade level and Dean of Instruction Materials: Copies of student surveys,  Principal and Dean of Instruction,  and STAR Team Action Step 2: Create a “STAR” (Students and Teachers Assessing Resources) Team to collaborate and assess the technology resources and needs of the school.  Students will survey other students on their uses of technology and ask for suggestions on how they would like to use technology in the classroom, results presented to the STAR team. Based on the data the STAR team collected they develop a professional development plan that will positively affect students’ learning. ISTE   /NETS*A   Connection-System Improvement: “… collaborate to establish metrics, collect and analyze data, interpret results, and share findings to improve staff performance and student learning.” [1] Evaluation How will success be determined? ISTE   /NETS*A   Connection-Digital-Age Learning Culture and Excellence in Professional Practice:  “… provide learner-center environments equipped with technology and learning resources to meet the individual, diverse needs of all learners.” [1]  “…allocate time, resources, and access to ensure ongoing professional growth in technology fluency and integration.” [2] Evaluation How will success be determined?
