2. Use Streaming Video Check you tube and teacher tube to help enhance your lessons. Science lessons come alive when students can see science in action.
3. Use music in the classroom Students are motivated by music that speaks to them. One suggestion is to play some music at the beginning of class while they are writing down information in their notebooks, or while performing nonessential tasks on a laboratory day.
4. Use teleconferencing Tools Using Skpe to connect with students in other parts of the world or the United States can make learning fun and show the students that they have many things in common with students around the world. Connect with professionals at companies that are working on projects that are relevant to what the students are studying.
5. Use the interactive white board Teachers should learn all of the features of the white board so that the lessons can come alive for the students.
6. Create your own podcasts This can be especially helpful when the science teacher needs to demonstrate how to complete a lab. The teacher may also show a demonstration online for the student to view later while doing homework.
7. Start a Blog or a Wiki The teacher can start a blog to show the student’s work and keep in contact with students. If a student has a question, the question could be answered once and the other students could benefit from that answer.
8. Use Social Networks The teacher could use a social network to create a closed group. If the school doesn’t allow the teacher to be on a social network, the teacher could create a closed email account that would let students and parents know when assignments are due and particular information about major projects.
9. Use internet tools Science is a constantly evolving topic. The internet can help the students to research a relevant topic and get up to date information.
10. Make the most of your student’s gadgets Students love to use their gadgets. Find out what they are using and try to incorporate some of the new gadgets in a lesson. They can do research and share information about a project they are working on.
