What it means to be digitally literate changes over time and across contexts, so digital literacies are essentially a set of academic and professional situated practices supported by diverse and changing technologies.
These practices and skills become part of a person’s identity,
a person may be motivated to try new technologies and gain new skills when their identity is challenged, when practices in their professional area change, or when new opportunities present themselves.
Helps us to develop others if we can understand an individual at these different levels.
