Why do we do these programs? Importance of peer-to-peer networking Support study abroad offices Reach students who otherwise wouldn’t hear about study abroad Resume-building skills for students Keep students engaged with their study abroad experience Will hear from AU – has hosted student ambassadors in the past Jane Fu from DAAD – will talk about young ambassadors program and researcher ambassador program Dan O’Brien will talk about Australearn’s enCompass ambassador program I’ll talk about our AEI student ambassador program Fran Nemorine, a former student ambassador, will talk about her experience as a student ambassador. She was an AEI North America student ambassador in 2008-09 while she was a student at Towson. Objectives of presentation are to showcase programs – go through the nuts and bolts of how to run a student ambassador program, and give you practical ideas of how student ambassador programs can be an asset to your study abroad office. May also get some practical tips and ideas on how to create or further develop your own ambassador program – best practice examples, if you will.
