1. Build your sales hitlist
Find anyone’s email address.

2. Download rapportive
A Gmail plugin that searches your contacts for social media accounts. http://rapportive.com/

3. Rapportive sits on the right hand side of your email and
shows you:
•Tweets
•Twitter ID
• Facebook ID
• Linkedin ID
• Skype

4. Build your sales hitlist.....
... can’t find someone’s email? Rapportive is pretty handy.
Find:
• Name
• Company
• Position
• Email
• Phone number

5. Step 1
In Gmail, click to open a new email.

6. Step 2
Guess their email address.
Companies have set email structures.The most common structures
are:
• fname.surname@company.com - simon.mccann@company.com
• fname@company.com - simon@company.com
• firstinitialsurname@company.com - smccann@company.com
• initials@company.com - sm@company.com
• fnamesurnameinitial@company.com - simonm@company.com

7. Step 3
Type your guessed email in to the “To” email field.

8. Step 4
Hover your cursor over the email address.
The Rapportive plugin will appear to the right hand side of the email.

9. Step 5
The result....
If the Rapportive plugin looks like below then the email address is (probably) incorrect.
No social media accounts are linked to this email
address.

10. Step 6
Try again
Try new email addresses until the below appears.

11. Jackpot!
The email address is linked to a social media account,
therefore is (probably) the correct email address.

12. Yes but...
Answers to the normal “challenges” I face when I tell people
this:
No. Occasionally the email address isn’t the correct address and my email gets sent to the wrong
person.This happen’s 1 out of 100.
Occasionally it says all email’s I try are wrong - the common reason is that the company has a
weird email structure - e.g. simon@uk.company.com.
My Launch48 email address shown is not the email address I used to sign up to Linkedin.
My Launch48 email address shown is not the email address I used to sign up to Twitter.
It still works.
Q: What if the person I’m looking for didn’t use their work email address for
social media accounts?
