9/11 Creative Writing
My phone's alarm went off early in the morning; I let it play a little more as the alarm was my
favorite song. Instead of being cranky by the alarm, I bumped to it. The birds chirped from all
angles, the neighbor's dogs barked at each other, while he was too busy mowing to lawn. But, I
was in a terrific mood anyway. The blinds, slightly open, let bright sun rays hit my floor, while the
A/C blasted. I slowly got up, and let out a loud yawn. Bones cracked at every single body joint. The
pleasing aroma of coffee and the savoring smell of eggs filled up my nostrils. I put both feet down,
and head to the pull–up bar where I hang on it for a few seconds, stretching out my spine. I turn my
head toward the calendar to make sure today was the day. Indeed it was, reading the month of July
with 2008 written in big, bold letters. Butterflies filled up my stomach with goosebumps
everywhere. "Kam, are you done packing?" yelled my mother from the hallway closet. "Yeah, just
got to get my toothbrush and razor." responded back my dad.
My dad always packed his things last. Suddenly, my heart stopped. I turn my head slowly over my
shoulder, only to see my luggage bag laying on the floor, open, with nothing but dust in it. The
brimming list of things I was supposed to pack layed on my desk. "Oh my, I totally forgot to...show

I ran around the house, informing everybody that I found my ticket. Although my parents were so
relieved that my ticket was found, they were also worried we would miss the flight. My dad
quickly carries down everyone's luggage, putting it by the door. With only a matter of minutes to
spare, everyone grabs their luggage and runs out the door. My parents help my sister and I put our
luggage into the trunk and everyone grabs their seat in the car. As the car engines fires up, everyone
makes a last minute check, making sure they have everything, especially their

Essay On I Am Malala
The book "I am Malala" tells the story of eleven year old girl that campaigned and fought for
woman's rights and for the Taliban to allow them to go to school. Malala had an extremely tight nit
family bond along with very supportive parents. She always had their support especially from her
father Ziauddin. I believe that if I had a daughter so young that wanted to make such a big
difference in her country I would stand by her one–hundred percent and push her to set out her
dreams. That is exactly what her parents did, they always encouraged her to do whatever she put her
mind to even now in present day.
Malala at age fifteen was shot by a Taliban man, for standing up for woman's rights to go to school.
If I was Malala's parents I would...show more content...
"He even asked friends to throw dried fruits, sweets and coins into my cradle, something we usually
only do for boys." (pg.14) Woman were treated very different from men in Swat but Malala wanted
to put an end to that.
Malala wanted to make a difference in how unequal woman's rights were, and she would go to all
costs to make it happen in her country. Her father said since she was a baby that this child is
special, and she was. If my child wanted to take a stand at eleven for woman's rights I would be
shocked to say the least. I would've brushed it to the side and forgot about it. Malala had a very
strong support base because I would not have let my child of eleven protest which she could have
gotten killed for. Malala was brave, she even said she was not afraid to die. Most would have
been more comfortable if she was "older" and "wiser". Which I think is a common misconception
on young people. More seasoned people think that just because a child is young they cannot have
a big voice or have an opinion on society because they have not experienced as many years on earth
as them. Malala broke the mold and she protested what she felt was right, even though she ended up
getting shot in the face for it. Was it worth it? I think it was worth it.
In conclusion I support the fact that Malala's parents allowed her to fight for woman's rights, and to
stand up for what she believed in. Malala's shooting affected people across the world and she was
even nominated for

Essay Growing Up
When I Grow Up..
"Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up."
–AmberGrace Seguin
Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do
'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood thinking of what we would do when we finally
'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of
what it is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what
it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it finally comes for the picture to be taken off
the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting.
"Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional."

"The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he
forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise." –Alden Nowlan
As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once
convinced ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once
we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we think back at our youth and laugh
because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than
ever, we crave for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to
become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was simple and we could imagine it
any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it.
"A grownup is a child with layers on." –Woody

My Definition of Success Essay example
"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."
– Albert Einstein ––
My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you)
what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your
thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that
challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing
what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you
love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content...
Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets
is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important,
and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life
interesting and challenging.
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or
the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I
grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most
successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination.
They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the
$55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would
enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company,
moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed
to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is
practiced, things won't spin out of control.
Bottom line rules for a successful life:
Always try new things.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
Travel as much as you can comfortably afford.
Faith and family always come first –

Essay on Creativity in Education
Creativity in the curriculum
A school with creativity at the heart of the learning process will benefit by increasing the motivation
of staff and pupils, says former head, Dave Weston. In this article and case study, he shows the way
to more imaginative approaches to curriculum planning
'Creativity is the defeat of habit by originality' Arthur Koestler
Many school leaders and teachers realise that is now time to take more control over the curriculum
and to include a greater emphasis on creativity in the learning and teaching process.
During the last five years, headteachers have developed the confidence to take innovative and
imaginative approaches to curriculum planning and school organisation. This is due to some
encouragement...show more content...
The teachers work on topics with small groups of pupils while the rest of the class work on
self–selected activities. Projects are often open–ended and therefore curriculum planning is flexible
and is sometimes teacher–directed and sometimes child–initiated. This philosophy is inspiring and
can be partially transferred to the different framework of the British primary school. Whole–school
approach to developing 'creativity'
For school leaders the first step in developing a creative school is the fostering of a whole–school
approach. Creativity is not an add–on and it cannot be imposed by the headteacher. There needs to
be discussion, involvement and ownership. The debate should be based around some of the
following points:
taking control of the curriculum by the school
the creation of a school with creativity at the heart of the learning process
enhancing the motivation for staff and pupils
fostering the professional development of all the staff, both teaching and non–teaching
involving governors and parents in a whole–school approach to creativity and showing how this
philosophy supports school improvement and high standards of achievement
getting the pupils involved in school issues (regarding the curriculum and the learning, perhaps
through the school council). How does your school measure up?
So how far has your school got in developing a creative approach to learning and teaching? Ask
yourself:
Have you discussed

My Favorite Movie Essay
As 2016 draws to its inevitable close, it's time for me to look back on the (literally) hundreds of
movies I've seen this year and decide which ten were my absolute favorites. A heady task, I know–
but someone who calls himself "The Black Saint" has gotta do it. And since I'm the only person
around here in the depths of Gruesome Manor that answers to that name, I guess that task falls to me.
But before I get to the final ten, I'd like to give shout outs to some films that I enjoyed out of the
horror genre. Films like Deadpool, which took the whole superhero genre and freshened it in a most
ribald, hilarious and unexpected way. Captain America: Civil War is pretty much my favorite
superhero movie so far, I loved its intrigue, action, and flat out incredible battle scenes. Having the
Black Panther and Spider–Man in the mix didn't hurt any either. Marvel films went 3 for 3 this year
with the release of Doctor Strange, which (in IMAX 3D) was the first superhero film to actually
make me feel like I was in another dimension. A real experience to witness in the IMAX format.
Getting back to the horror genre, Green Room was one of the most harrowing films of the year for
sure, with scenes of violence that still make me wince when I think of them. Larry Kent's She Who
Must Burn is more morality tale than horror film, but it's scenes of horror are about as potent as any
I've witnessed this year, it features villains that I truly despised, and an ending that stayed with me for

Essay on Volcanoes
Volcanoes
Volcanoes are natural phenomena which are on the Earth's surface through which molten rock and
gases escape from below the surface (Tarbuck, 139). These volcanoes are very interesting to
observe and to study because of their amazing occurrences and majestic lava eruptions. Volcanoes
have been studied ever since the beginning of mankind and the word "volcano" is thought to be
derived from Vulcano, a volcanic island in the Aeolian Islands of Italy whose name in turn
originates from Vulcan, the name of a god of fire in Roman mythology. Consisting of several types,
volcanoes can extrude several forms of magma and can also release multiple gases. These extruded
materials can affect the Earth's structure and atmosphere.
There are...show more content...
Last but not least, composite volcanoes also make up some of the earth's surface. Composite
volcanoes have a conical shape, with a steep summit area and gradually sloping flanks, and are
nearly symmetrical in structure (Tarbuck, 141). These volcanoes release silica–rich and gaseous
magma that is highly viscous and travels very short distances. These three types of volcanoes that
occupy the earth have seemingly different physical characteristics and behavioral changes.
A volcanic eruption is one of the most dangerous and eventful natural disasters that can take place.
During these eruptions, several factors are taken into account. Each type of volcano discussed above
has a different form of lava: one's might be highly fluid and the other might be very viscous. Lava
can take many shapes as it is extruded from a volcano. One such form is that of pahoehoe.
Usually common on the Hawaiian volcanoes, pahoehoe is a form of lava which is smooth and
ropy and causes by the congealment of lava as it is released from the volcano (Williams, 32).
Another form of lava is one that is named aa. This lava consists of jumbles of rough, clinkery, and
spinose fragments, ranging from small chips to blocks measuring meters on a side (Williams, 37).
Aa flows are cool and thick and can advance at rates between 5 and 50 meters per hour (Tarbuck,
145). Lava can also take a block formation

Essay about Suicide
Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it
will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million
youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1
/3, actually succeeded.
Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an
illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and
sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no
surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide
is now responsible for more deaths...show more content...
Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes
producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may
have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good
grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of
wanting to die.
People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that
they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant
unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered
easily, or has a severe lost of energy.
For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day.
Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or
disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill
themselves.
Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they
feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. Many teenagers will try to communicate
their pains through

Creative Title It has been 2 years since Johnny and Dally died and a lot has happened. I have been
doing pretty good, the theme that I wrote a few years ago actually got quite a bit of publicity
because the teacher loved it so much. I was in the newspaper. Darry and I have actually convinced
Soda to go back to school. Since Sodapop isn't the most motivated person in the world, we signed
him up for a tutor after school twice a week so he will actually do his homework. So far he's actually
been doing real good. He had to switch to part time at work, but darry doesn't really mind because
he knows that Sodapop going to school will be better for him in the long run. Cherry and I have

The Invasion of D-Day Essay
Introduction
The invasion of D–Day is the largest joint sea born invasion in the history of the world. Although
very well planned, the amphibious landings were a gamble made by the Allied forces to gain
foothold in Europe. Every American has heard about the Allied invasion of German–occupied
Western Europe on D–Day. However, how many Americans stop and think about how much
planning, preparation and luck that went into making it the success that it is remembered for? I will
attempt to depict what it took to conquer the Normandy beaches using historical and military facts
that make it such an iconic event in the world's history still today.

They used lessons learned from the unsuccessful Dieppe raid to assist identifying parameters for the
landing site, such as: it needed to be within range of fighters from England, within reach of a major
port, suitable for prolonged operations, and have beach defenses that could be suppressed with
bombing and bombardment.6 The resulting answer was a section of Norwegian coast between Caen
and Cherbourg.
In July 1942 the first draft of Overlord plan was completed by COSSAC, and by August the
Operation Overlord plan was approved by the CCS. Lieutenant–General Dwight D. Eisenhower was
appointed as Supreme Commander for Operation Overlord. General Sir Bernard Montgomery is
given command of the 21st Army Group, which contains all the land forces that would be used in the
invasion.
The Allies identified five separate beaches for the invasion of Normandy. The Americans would
assault the two beaches in the west, named Utah and Omaha. In the east, British and Canadian
forces would assault Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches. Airborne units would be deployed to land on
the flanks of Utah and Sword beaches. The main objectives planned for the first day would be to
consolidate the beaches into one beach head, secure the main avenues of travel to and from the
beaches, and secure the city of Caen. The following days would include fortification and expansion
of the beach

Essay on Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds are the smallest birds in the world. They are extremely tiny birds weighing, roughly
two to twenty grams. The females are larger than the males. According to World Of
Hummingbirds.com the smallest hummingbird species in the world is the Cuban Bee Hummingbird,
it measures five to six cm in length and weighs a mere two– two and a half grams. In the U.S., most
species are three to three and a half inches in length.
Even though they are the smallest birds in the world, they have the fastest wings beats of any other
bird. Hummingbirds beat their wings over one thousand times a minute. The rapid flapping of the
wings makes a humming noise, which is where their name comes from. They can fly an average of

They fly with their bodies held upright, not flat like most birds. (Rock)
Hummingbirds have very high metabolisms and need to feed about every fifteen minutes. They must
consume enormous amounts of nutrition each day for energy. Nectar or sugar water contributes to
one hundred –two hundred percent of their body weight. They can easily visit up to two–thousand
flowers a day. Nectar is not their only source of food; they also eat mosquitoes, flies, ants, small
beetles, tiny wasps and other small insects. They are able to conserve energy when they are not
looking for food by entering a hibernation–like state called torpor. They perch when they need to rest
during the day and to sleep at night. Their feet are tiny and not well suited for walking but well
designed for perching.
Hummingbird's bills have a pronounced overlap, with the upper bill curving around and over the
sides of the smaller lower bill. When they feed, their bill usually opens slightly, allowing their
tongue to dart out and into the interior of flowers. Their tongues are long, which roll up into little a
straw. They lap the nectar similar to the way cats lap.
Hummingbirds are most attracted to the color red and red flowers. If you have noticed most of their
feeders have the color red on them somewhere. Other brightly–colored flowers with a bell or
tube–like shape also attract hummingbirds. They are especially attracted to flowers like sage, coral
honeysuckle,

Career Research Essay
"I feel sorry for the person who can't get genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never

one wants to be in life can prove to be a demanding task. There are so many, yet limited, different
opportunities in the world to have an excellent career and make a decent living while doing
something one loves. It is limited because there are only a few specific career paths that someone

overwhelming amount of information on every little detail of these jobs. Psychology "Few
fields of study offer more career opportunities than does psychology" (Sternburg 3). There are a
wide selection of specialties a person could go into with a bachelor's degree in psychology. In
graduate school, which is a must to attend, there is the option to explore the different specialities
or to go into the desired specialty without any research of the others. There are also many options
within a specific specialty. There is the option to be a teacher, to work for various organizations,
be a speaker, to have your own practice, and many others. In the psychology field these options
can all be combined. In fact it is expected of psychologists to do more activities involving their
specialty than solely sit in an office and listen to patients. There are two specialities that I am
interested in however, over the years, these specialties have become very similar. Clinical and
counseling psychology have evolved to become one in the same. Someone who specializes in
clinical psychology are more

  • 1. 9/11 Creative Writing My phone's alarm went off early in the morning; I let it play a little more as the alarm was my favorite song. Instead of being cranky by the alarm, I bumped to it. The birds chirped from all angles, the neighbor's dogs barked at each other, while he was too busy mowing to lawn. But, I was in a terrific mood anyway. The blinds, slightly open, let bright sun rays hit my floor, while the A/C blasted. I slowly got up, and let out a loud yawn. Bones cracked at every single body joint. The pleasing aroma of coffee and the savoring smell of eggs filled up my nostrils. I put both feet down, and head to the pull–up bar where I hang on it for a few seconds, stretching out my spine. I turn my head toward the calendar to make sure today was the day. Indeed it was, reading the month of July with 2008 written in big, bold letters. Butterflies filled up my stomach with goosebumps everywhere. "Kam, are you done packing?" yelled my mother from the hallway closet. "Yeah, just got to get my toothbrush and razor." responded back my dad. My dad always packed his things last. Suddenly, my heart stopped. I turn my head slowly over my shoulder, only to see my luggage bag laying on the floor, open, with nothing but dust in it. The brimming list of things I was supposed to pack layed on my desk. "Oh my, I totally forgot to...show more content... I ran around the house, informing everybody that I found my ticket. Although my parents were so relieved that my ticket was found, they were also worried we would miss the flight. My dad quickly carries down everyone's luggage, putting it by the door. With only a matter of minutes to spare, everyone grabs their luggage and runs out the door. My parents help my sister and I put our luggage into the trunk and everyone grabs their seat in the car. • 2. Essay On I Am Malala The book "I am Malala" tells the story of eleven year old girl that campaigned and fought for woman's rights and for the Taliban to allow them to go to school. Malala had an extremely tight nit family bond along with very supportive parents. She always had their support especially from her father Ziauddin. I believe that if I had a daughter so young that wanted to make such a big difference in her country I would stand by her one–hundred percent and push her to set out her dreams. That is exactly what her parents did, they always encouraged her to do whatever she put her mind to even now in present day. Malala at age fifteen was shot by a Taliban man, for standing up for woman's rights to go to school. If I was Malala's parents I would...show more content... "He even asked friends to throw dried fruits, sweets and coins into my cradle, something we usually only do for boys." (pg.14) Woman were treated very different from men in Swat but Malala wanted to put an end to that. Malala wanted to make a difference in how unequal woman's rights were, and she would go to all costs to make it happen in her country. Her father said since she was a baby that this child is special, and she was. If my child wanted to take a stand at eleven for woman's rights I would be shocked to say the least. I would've brushed it to the side and forgot about it. Malala had a very strong support base because I would not have let my child of eleven protest which she could have gotten killed for. Malala was brave, she even said she was not afraid to die. Most would have been more comfortable if she was "older" and "wiser". Which I think is a common misconception on young people. More seasoned people think that just because a child is young they cannot have a big voice or have an opinion on society because they have not experienced as many years on earth as them. Malala broke the mold and she protested what she felt was right, even though she ended up getting shot in the face for it. Was it worth it? I think it was worth it. In conclusion I support the fact that Malala's parents allowed her to fight for woman's rights, and to stand up for what she believed in. Malala's shooting affected people across the world and she was even nominated for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay Growing Up When I Grow Up.. "Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up." –AmberGrace Seguin Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do 'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood thinking of what we would do when we finally 'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of what it is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it finally comes for the picture to be taken off the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting. "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional." –Anonymous We all have the choice...show more content... "The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise." –Alden Nowlan As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once convinced ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we think back at our youth and laugh because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than ever, we crave for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was simple and we could imagine it any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it. • 4. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Essay on Creativity in Education Creativity in the curriculum A school with creativity at the heart of the learning process will benefit by increasing the motivation of staff and pupils, says former head, Dave Weston. In this article and case study, he shows the way to more imaginative approaches to curriculum planning 'Creativity is the defeat of habit by originality' Arthur Koestler Many school leaders and teachers realise that is now time to take more control over the curriculum and to include a greater emphasis on creativity in the learning and teaching process. During the last five years, headteachers have developed the confidence to take innovative and imaginative approaches to curriculum planning and school organisation. This is due to some encouragement...show more content... The teachers work on topics with small groups of pupils while the rest of the class work on self–selected activities. Projects are often open–ended and therefore curriculum planning is flexible and is sometimes teacher–directed and sometimes child–initiated. This philosophy is inspiring and can be partially transferred to the different framework of the British primary school. Whole–school approach to developing 'creativity' For school leaders the first step in developing a creative school is the fostering of a whole–school approach. Creativity is not an add–on and it cannot be imposed by the headteacher. There needs to be discussion, involvement and ownership. The debate should be based around some of the following points: taking control of the curriculum by the school the creation of a school with creativity at the heart of the learning process enhancing the motivation for staff and pupils fostering the professional development of all the staff, both teaching and non–teaching involving governors and parents in a whole–school approach to creativity and showing how this philosophy supports school improvement and high standards of achievement getting the pupils involved in school issues (regarding the curriculum and the learning, perhaps through the school council). How does your school measure up? So how far has your school got in developing a creative approach to learning and teaching? Ask yourself: Have you discussed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Favorite Movie Essay As 2016 draws to its inevitable close, it's time for me to look back on the (literally) hundreds of movies I've seen this year and decide which ten were my absolute favorites. A heady task, I know– but someone who calls himself "The Black Saint" has gotta do it. And since I'm the only person around here in the depths of Gruesome Manor that answers to that name, I guess that task falls to me. But before I get to the final ten, I'd like to give shout outs to some films that I enjoyed out of the horror genre. Films like Deadpool, which took the whole superhero genre and freshened it in a most ribald, hilarious and unexpected way. Captain America: Civil War is pretty much my favorite superhero movie so far, I loved its intrigue, action, and flat out incredible battle scenes. Having the Black Panther and Spider–Man in the mix didn't hurt any either. Marvel films went 3 for 3 this year with the release of Doctor Strange, which (in IMAX 3D) was the first superhero film to actually make me feel like I was in another dimension. A real experience to witness in the IMAX format. Getting back to the horror genre, Green Room was one of the most harrowing films of the year for sure, with scenes of violence that still make me wince when I think of them. Larry Kent's She Who Must Burn is more morality tale than horror film, but it's scenes of horror are about as potent as any I've witnessed this year, it features villains that I truly despised, and an ending that stayed with me for Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 8. Essay on Volcanoes Volcanoes Volcanoes are natural phenomena which are on the Earth's surface through which molten rock and gases escape from below the surface (Tarbuck, 139). These volcanoes are very interesting to observe and to study because of their amazing occurrences and majestic lava eruptions. Volcanoes have been studied ever since the beginning of mankind and the word "volcano" is thought to be derived from Vulcano, a volcanic island in the Aeolian Islands of Italy whose name in turn originates from Vulcan, the name of a god of fire in Roman mythology. Consisting of several types, volcanoes can extrude several forms of magma and can also release multiple gases. These extruded materials can affect the Earth's structure and atmosphere. There are...show more content... Last but not least, composite volcanoes also make up some of the earth's surface. Composite volcanoes have a conical shape, with a steep summit area and gradually sloping flanks, and are nearly symmetrical in structure (Tarbuck, 141). These volcanoes release silica–rich and gaseous magma that is highly viscous and travels very short distances. These three types of volcanoes that occupy the earth have seemingly different physical characteristics and behavioral changes. A volcanic eruption is one of the most dangerous and eventful natural disasters that can take place. During these eruptions, several factors are taken into account. Each type of volcano discussed above has a different form of lava: one's might be highly fluid and the other might be very viscous. Lava can take many shapes as it is extruded from a volcano. One such form is that of pahoehoe. Usually common on the Hawaiian volcanoes, pahoehoe is a form of lava which is smooth and ropy and causes by the congealment of lava as it is released from the volcano (Williams, 32). Another form of lava is one that is named aa. This lava consists of jumbles of rough, clinkery, and spinose fragments, ranging from small chips to blocks measuring meters on a side (Williams, 37). Aa flows are cool and thick and can advance at rates between 5 and 50 meters per hour (Tarbuck, 145). Lava can also take a block formation Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Essay about Suicide Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1 /3, actually succeeded. Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide is now responsible for more deaths...show more content... Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of wanting to die. People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered easily, or has a severe lost of energy. For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day. Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill themselves. Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. • 11. The Invasion of D-Day Essay Introduction The invasion of D–Day is the largest joint sea born invasion in the history of the world. Although very well planned, the amphibious landings were a gamble made by the Allied forces to gain foothold in Europe. Every American has heard about the Allied invasion of German–occupied Western Europe on D–Day. However, how many Americans stop and think about how much planning, preparation and luck that went into making it the success that it is remembered for? I will attempt to depict what it took to conquer the Normandy beaches using historical and military facts that make it such an iconic event in the world's history still today. History Japan's surprise attack on the United States came as a complete shock. The attacks cost...show more content... They used lessons learned from the unsuccessful Dieppe raid to assist identifying parameters for the landing site, such as: it needed to be within range of fighters from England, within reach of a major port, suitable for prolonged operations, and have beach defenses that could be suppressed with bombing and bombardment.6 The resulting answer was a section of Norwegian coast between Caen and Cherbourg. In July 1942 the first draft of Overlord plan was completed by COSSAC, and by August the Operation Overlord plan was approved by the CCS. Lieutenant–General Dwight D. Eisenhower was appointed as Supreme Commander for Operation Overlord. General Sir Bernard Montgomery is given command of the 21st Army Group, which contains all the land forces that would be used in the invasion. The Allies identified five separate beaches for the invasion of Normandy. The Americans would assault the two beaches in the west, named Utah and Omaha. In the east, British and Canadian forces would assault Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches. Airborne units would be deployed to land on the flanks of Utah and Sword beaches. The main objectives planned for the first day would be to consolidate the beaches into one beach head, secure the main avenues of travel to and from the beaches, and secure the city of Caen. The following days would include fortification and expansion of the beach Get more content on HelpWriting.net

According to World Of Hummingbirds.com the smallest hummingbird species in the world is the Cuban Bee Hummingbird, it measures five to six cm in length and weighs a mere two– two and a half grams. In the U.S., most species are three to three and a half inches in length. Even though they are the smallest birds in the world, they have the fastest wings beats of any other bird. They can fly an average of twenty–five to thirty...show more content... They fly with their bodies held upright, not flat like most birds. (Rock) Hummingbirds have very high metabolisms and need to feed about every fifteen minutes. They must consume enormous amounts of nutrition each day for energy. Nectar or sugar water contributes to one hundred –two hundred percent of their body weight. They can easily visit up to two–thousand flowers a day. Nectar is not their only source of food; they also eat mosquitoes, flies, ants, small beetles, tiny wasps and other small insects. They are able to conserve energy when they are not looking for food by entering a hibernation–like state called torpor. They perch when they need to rest during the day and to sleep at night. Their feet are tiny and not well suited for walking but well designed for perching. Hummingbird's bills have a pronounced overlap, with the upper bill curving around and over the sides of the smaller lower bill. When they feed, their bill usually opens slightly, allowing their tongue to dart out and into the interior of flowers. Their tongues are long, which roll up into little a straw. They lap the nectar similar to the way cats lap. Hummingbirds are most attracted to the color red and red flowers. If you have noticed most of their feeders have the color red on them somewhere. Other brightly–colored flowers with a bell or tube–like shape also attract hummingbirds. They are especially attracted to flowers like sage, coral honeysuckle, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Psychology "Few fields of study offer more career opportunities than does psychology" (Sternburg 3). There are a wide selection of specialties a person could go into with a bachelor's degree in psychology. In graduate school, which is a must to attend, there is the option to explore the different specialities or to go into the desired specialty without any research of the others. There are also many options within a specific specialty. There is the option to be a teacher, to work for various organizations, be a speaker, to have your own practice, and many others. In the psychology field these options can all be combined. In fact it is expected of psychologists to do more activities involving their specialty than solely sit in an office and listen to patients. There are two specialities that I am interested in however, over the years, these specialties have become very similar. Clinical and counseling psychology have evolved to become one in the same.
