Why Business Acumen?
Business Acumen Program is appropriately used to upgrade junior management to middle
management or to give middle management a holistic view of an organization, understand market
dynamics and appreciate interdependency of various departments.

Business Acumen is meant for junior and middle management, to appreciate cross- functional
decision making in a dynamic and challenging environment at the same time aligning themselves to
corporate objectives and individual & departmental goals in a collaborative environment. This cross
functional understanding is put to practice in a computer-based business simulation where
participants assume the role of senior management of a "virtual" company, set organizational goals,
take decisions to achieve goals set and handle the market dynamics and challenges with a teambased approach.
Participants understand organizational objectives through theoretical inputs and interactive case
studies. This understanding is put to practice in a computer-based business simulation where
participants assume the role of senior management of a "virtual" company and set organizational
goals, take cross functional decisions to achieve goals setand handle the market dynamics and

iInteract"s LEAP method viz Learn-Experience-Analyze-Practice makes the learning process realistic
and conveys an experience of dealing with real-life situations in the market that has enduring
knowledge impact upon the participants.
Learn - Proven management concepts like Push and Pull marketing strategies, Porter"s Five Forces,
Just-in-Time dynamics etc. are covered with current case studies from real world.Experience Participants are encouraged to take risks and learn from mistakes using embedded tools to take
decisions.Analyze - Debriefing is done at the end of each decision-round which helps the participants
to reflect upon their results and move towards the achievement of the goals.Practice - The
participants are divided into competing teams and run a virtual company over multiple decision
periods. At end of each decision period, teams are analyzed on various factors on Turnover, Profit,
Market Share, Shareholder Value, ROI, ROE, ROA etc.
