Laila Rubab,24-Rajanpur(Punjab)Pakistan.
Rubab has 4year of learning experience in the development
sector/nonprofit social sector Local NGOs and INGOs. She holds a
Postgraduate Degree in Sociology from Bahuadin Zakriya University
Multan (Punjab) Pakistan, she also got English Communication skill
course diploma from Government College University Lahore. Rubab has
participated extensively in movements advocating Human rights, women
rights, Gender Sensitization, advocacy, capacity building and awareness
raising .In particular, her work addresses the differential needs and
circumstances of women, girls particularly during the disaster. Rubab is a
certified Sociologist and has provided social rehabilitation services for
over 4years victims of violence particularly women vulnerable and marginalized. Additionally, she has
worked regarding implementation of Community Mobilization activities District Rajan Pur for Family
Planning (Birth Spacing) focused on basic and primary Health in the community. She involved in planning,
organizing, implementation and Monitoring of Women Group Meetings for Maternal, Newborns and Child
care and health particularly focused on Birth Spacing. In addition to it she planned, organized and
monitored trainings for Lady Health Workers and Lady Health Supervisors on “Client Centered
Approach”. Rubab is particularly interested in elimination of Gender Based violence, Sexual and Social
Harassment and rehabilitation of disaster affected women and girls. Rubab did work for women
Reproductive Health and Maternal and Newborns health through formulation of women committees and
then conduction of advocacy, sensitization in relation to mobilization sessions on women reproductive
health regarding Antenatal, prenatal and postnatal care for pregnant women and newborns care and also
made sure the conduction of “Traditional Birth Attendants” and made sure their easy but immediate access
through “Referral Card System”. Currently; she is working as an Advocacy Officer in World Vision-
International in Muzaffargarh. Advocacy “New Life “Project major emphasis is to strengthen and
empower the vulnerable communities by giving “voice “to them in relation to provision of Information and
with the framework and perspective of Inclusion. As vulnerable communities are obviously ignorant and
unaware of the importance of Child Birth Registration” and Identity. If few number of Communities are
aware of the importance of Birth Registration than they don’t have easy access and Approach to the Line-
Departments for the solution of problems. The basic aim of the project is to leave the Legacy of
Sustainability by empowering the vulnerable communities in identification of the
issues/problems/challenges which are far away from the access of vulnerable communities and to raise
awareness and sensitize the citizens as issues are their they themselves could provide the best but
affordable, measurable, accessible and sustainable solution.She did lots of work on socio-economic
development of marginlised families and vulnerable groups.
She undertook “Assessments” in relation to issues of isolated, marginalized and vulnerable communities
and settlements. Hercurrant professional job being Advocacy Officer is to trigger down the” issues”
problems identification in Government services to communities. Aware, Mobilized and sensitized the
vulnerable and marginalizedcommunities as per policies IHL/UDHR after the identification of Key
Activists group and CBOs from the local existing communities so that they will be able to advocate for
their rights themselves. To make lobbying and Advocacy at the policy level for the effective
implementation of policies.
