My favorite animal is the donkey.

5. Mwen renmen bourik
paske yo rann nou anpil sèvis.
I like donkeys because they do a lot for us.

6. Nou sele bourik pou ale nan mache.
We saddle up donkeys to go to the market.

7. Lè nou chache dlo nou sele l ak ekipay.
Nou mete sak pay sou li. Nou pote
bokit, galon, doum, epi kay la gen dlo.
When we go to get water we saddle it with a yolk
and put woven sacks on it. We carry buckets,
gallons, and drums; then the house has water.

8. Moun sele bourik pou ale lopital.
People saddle up donkeys to go to the hospital.

9. Bagay bourik renmen manje se zegui,
po mayi, fèy kann, fèy pwa kongo.
Things donkeys like to eat are needle-shaped
leaves, cornhusks, sugar-cane leaves and congo-
bean leaves.
