boron.
• Turkey, Russia and the US are the largest
producers of boron minerals.

cleansing fluid, a water softener, insecticide, herbicide
and disinfectant.
• Boron Nitride- harder then a diamond, used in high temp
equipment.
• Boron oxide (B2O3) used for glassmaking and ceramics.
• Boron carbide (B4C) is used in tank armor and bullet
proof vests.
6. Uses
• Pyrotechnics: Gives flares the green color.
• Igniter in rockets.
• In Boric Acid – Antiseptic
• In Borax
• Cleaning flux in welding
• Water softener in washing powders
• Boron compounds are used in the manufacturing of glasses.
