They can complete process of booking a training slot in a matter of few clicks versus visiting multiple schools physically before or after their business hours. Students pay for the services and a decent experience and this platform just promises the same. When was drivekool.com launched? Launched in June 2014 for registering driving schools and opened this up for their customers to book online in July 2014. What prompted you to start this company (why you started and your philosophy of starting up) with many others being there in the market? We (Mahesh Gidwani & Saumitra Kayal) already were running 4th Dymension Teknocrats that was working in the field of providing software services and training in niche area when Kumar Gaurav, came to me (Mahesh Gidwani) with the concept. He only had to say a line about it and I got the whole idea and whole thing that was brewing up in his mind as I have been struggling to find a driving school for my wife and could not do it because of lack of time and it was too inconvenient. Kumar had finished his training and he didn’t have pleasant experience with searching & visiting driving schools physically and then negotiating with them. I was convinced with the idea but wanted to validate the idea with respect to market potential, competition if any, acceptance of such system by driving schools and by their customers. Gaurav did some research and came back, which looked promising. Now the next question if Gaurav was really committed and ready for a big roller coaster ride, for which he offered to quit his job and join us. Then I discussed about the whole thing with Saumitra Kayal another co-founder and CTO; his buy-in was very important as he was the one who had to get it implemented . He also liked the concept but gave us some tough time before giving green signal. He is a tough nut to crack and thankfully he didn’t use his veto power. That was it!! We formed a team and started working towards it and result is there now. But this is just a beginning and we still have a long way to go.
