3. AS AN
ASSESSMENT TOOL
Creating a slide
presentation is a
great way for
students to
demonstrate
learning outcomes.
SlideShare provides
a common platform
for presenting their
slide presentations.
4. ADVANTAGES
The biggest
advantages I see for
teachers and students
to utilize SlideShare in
their web 2.0 tools it
the ability to store their
presentations in one
area that is accessible
from anywhere.
Think of it as a wiki for
your presentations.
5. DISADVANTAGES
For your eyes only
does not apply.
In researching SlideShare I
posted a short 3 slide
presentation I made in
another class. Nothing
significant or relevant to
anything or anyone but
myself.
Within three days of
uploading it to SlideShare it
had been seen by 42
people.
I have no idea who these
42 people are.
6. DISADVANTAGES
To have presentations
secured or made
private you have top
subscribe to its “Pro”
paid plan.
There are three paid
levels of SlideShare Pro
and the cheapest of
these is $19 a month.
Too much for me!
7. DISADVANTAGES
What’s all the fuss with
privacy?
Viewers are allowed to
make comments on
the presentations. So
without the privacy
feature
Anyone
from
Anywhere
can comment
Anything
at
Anytime
9. DISADVANTAGES
All the bells and
whistles of this slide
presentation did not
convert over to
SlideShare.
Sometimes this could
be a good thing but I
personally like the
slides to move and
float and transition
with action.
10. For My Class
I will utilize SlideShare as the final
project and my assessment tool.
Students will select one interesting fact
from each week’s reading a present…
11. The interesting fact and it resulting
outcome
Its impact on society
The impacts relevance in history
The impacts relevance today
12. I am excited to add this
Web 2.0 tool
to my bag of
learning enhancement
activities.
THANK YOU
