Hitherto it was believed that nestled in the lush green valleys of the North-East, NIT
Silchar is aggrandized as well as scuttled by its picturesque location that remains far flung
from the rest of the mainland. But the spirit of the institute has proven to be too strong to be
thwarted, and under some inspiring leadership, it has broken the shackles that constrained it
to the so called Third Tier. NIT Silchar, today, is registering a strong presence on the bigger
stage of the nation with its voice that has become increasingly robust. Among the technologi-
cal gems of this nation, NIT Silchar is dazzling all its peers and has set an example of evolu-
tion. While NIT Silchar walks as a vanguard of the caravan of innovation in India, we have
decided to choose this year’s theme as “India initiating Innovation”. Let us all take a few
moments to sit back, go through the pages, read about leaps and bounds that our country
has taken in this never ending saga of innovation.
We have revamped the magazine completely and given it a completely new look with a hope
that it turns out towards the better side. The pages are now glossy, more number of colored
pages are included and a little of tinkering has been sprinkled on the layout as well. Compil-
ing the magazine is a task as arduous as nothing else; it took us a great amount of hard work
and persistence to come out with this magazine. I express my heartfelt gratitude to my edit-
ing team members and feel elated to have support from teachers whenever I stepped in their
room. I must thank my friends Bhawarnab, Mrinal, Pooja, Abhishek and Avinav for sharing
their solidarity with me in our common conviction towards a successful publication of this
magazine. The Vice President Agni Kumar Jha and Ex-literary Secretary Anurag Anand were
a firm wall behind the back. I was lucky to have a mentor like them; a thorough professional
who worked hard in the superlative and derived the same from those under their tutelage.
Had this magazine been a venture as personal to me as the job of its editor, I would have in
all certitude dedicated it to these men who dedicated themselves to their alma mater.
