Vygotsky believed that spontaneous concepts are those learned by children without instruction, through everyday experiences and interactions, reflecting common sense beliefs. While spontaneous concepts are independently derived, Vygotsky acknowledged some role of adults. He viewed spontaneous concepts as complimenting scientifically taught concepts, with each having different traits but not being entirely separate.
