3. History
•
Texas A&M is the State’s first public institution
of higher education. It has more than 50,000
students and over 10 different campuses.

Their main campus is 5,200 acres. It is also
among the largest universities in the United
States. The university was created in 1877 by
the Texas legislature.

At first they didn’t allow women but under the
presidency of General James Earl Rudder, they
started admitting women in the 1960s.

Why Do I want to go to this great university?
•
At first glance, I wanted to go to this university
because it’s in Texas and I love Texas. But here
are some reasons: Their football program is
on the rise. They just went into their first year
in the SEC, with a new coach and had an 8-2
record. Their crowd is amazing and I just love
the story of the 12th man. There are also so
many things you can do in the city.
