1. The single-camera setup, or single-camera mode of production, is a method
of filmmaking and video production. A single camera—either motion picture
camera or professional video camera—is employed on the set and each shot
to make up a scene is taken individually.
A production using the single-camera setup generally employs just one
camera. Each of the various shots and camera angles is taken using the same
camera, which is moved and reset to get each shot or new angle. The lighting
setup is typically reconfigured for each camera setup.
2. • A television series that is intended to comprise a limited number of episodes is usually called a miniseries or serial. Series without a fixed length are
usually divided into seasons or series, yearly or biannual instalments of new episodes.
• Serials are series of television programs and radio programs that rely on a continuing plot that unfolds in a sequential episode-by-episode fashion.
Serials typically follow main story arcs that span entire television seasons or even the full run of the series. The soap opera is the most prominent
form of serial dramatic programming.
• A single drama is used to be a staple of television but it is now quite rare. It is designed as one of for television. Single dramas are based on a typical
issue, subject that is more suitable for television than the cinema.
• Sort of themes you can get in these formats are:
• Period drama - A costume drama or period drama is a period piece in which elaborate costumes, sets and properties are featured in order to capture
the ambience of a particular era. The term is usually used in the context of film and television. It is an informal, crossover term that can apply to
several genres but is most often heard in the context of historical dramas and romances, adventure films and swashbucklers. The implication is that
the audience is attracted as much by the lavish costumes as by the content.
• Drama documentary - television programming and staged theatre, a docudrama is a documentary-style genre that features dramatized re-
enactments of actual historical events. A docudrama may be filmed or written. In the core elements of its story a docudrama strives to adhere to
known historical facts, while allowing a greater or lesser degree of dramatic license in peripheral details, and where there are gaps in the historical
record. Docudrama producers sometimes choose to film their reconstructed events in the actual locations in which the historical events occurred.
Dialogue may include the actual words of real-life persons, as recorded in historical documents.
• Crime drama - Crime films are films which focus on the lives of criminals. The stylistic approach to a crime film varies from realistic portrayals of real-
life criminal figures, to the far-fetched evil doings of imaginary arch-villains. Criminal acts are almost always glorified in these movies. The popularity
of TV brought about the emergence of TV series featuring detectives, investigators, special agents, lawyers, and the police.
• Soap drama - A soap opera, sometimes called "soap" for short, is an on-going, episodic work of dramatic fiction presented in serial format on radio or
as television programming. These early radio series were broadcast in weekday daytime slots, usually five days a week, when most listeners would be
housewives; thus the shows were aimed at and consumed by a predominantly female audience.
• Comedy - Comedy-drama is a genre of theatre, film, and television that combines elements of comedy and drama, having both humorous and
sometimes serious content.

4. - Camera shots and angles may use in dramas – high angle, low angle, slanted angel, eye level, aerial shot, close up shot, long
shot, medium shot, wide shot, two shot, over the shoulder, point of view and shot reverse shot.
- Sound - Sound can enrich the sensory experience of art and aid in conveying concepts to individuals who are blind or
visually impaired. By combining movement and sound, creative drama maximizes an audience member's kinaesthetic
impressions, sensory experience, and emotional response.
- Editing – you got to take into consideration that action match, eye line match, final shot, juxtaposition and intercutting.
When an action match is used for intercutting, it can heighten the parallels/contrasts between two different characters in
two different situations and opportunity for juxtaposition. Eye line match usually provides insight to a character's private
thoughts. In any scene, which character or characters are shown in the final shot of the sequence, this is often the
character with whom the audience is expected to identify. Although typically a narrative device, intercutting can set up
juxtaposition between parallel storylines, exaggerating the impact or meaning of each by highlighting a point of difference.
When intercutting is used to draw two storylines together, this can be structured to create tension, and therefore heighten
the audience’s identification with a particular character.
5. • nonlinear - A non-linear narrative is one that does not proceed in a straight-line, step-by-step fashion,
such as where an author creates a story's ending before the middle is finished.
• Linear - Linear is the opposite, when narrative runs smoothly in a straight line, when it is not broken up.
• Flashback - Flashback movies are often confused with true non-linear narratives. Although they appear to
open (very briefly) with the ending, flashback movies almost immediately jump back to the very beginning
of the story to proceed linearly from there and usually proceed past the supposed "ending" shown at the
beginning of the movie.
• Anti – realistic -Realist or anti realist narratives can also be discussed. Obviously, a realist narrative will
draw its power from the portrayal of realistic events. An anti-realist narrative will have the freedom to
indulge in the inclusion of aliens, vampires and all kinds of beastly CGI nonsense.
• Endings open - Endings - are also an important part of narrative structure and warrant much analysis. They
can be open, where we are left with a sense that the story is unfinished or may continue after the section
of the narrative we have seen.
• Closed - Alternatively, they are closed and present a definite end to the story being told.
