• It is important to understand the culture and practices in
  where you are working.
• Understanding the system and rules in a company is essential
  in growing your career
Ways to understand Your
          Surrounding
• Speak to colleagues
  • To understand the working culture
  • To know the rules of the company
• Ask questions if you don’t understand
• Be quick to find out when you don’t know
  something
Adapt to the working life
• As a fresh graduate, it is a huge transition from university
  life to working life
• It is important to adapt to the working life style in order
  to succeed in your career
Ways to adapt to the working life
•   Know the differences between campus and working life
•   Time management is essential
•   No more slacking or procrastinating
•   Build friendships in your company (eg: colleagues and
    bosses)
Financial Planning
• Many will find a time managing their finances in their first few
  years
• They have the tendency to overspend because they have an
  income
• Financial Planning will prevent financial problems
Financial Planning
•   Set aside savings before spending
•   Plan your expenses
•   Don’t buy what you can’t afford
•   Save for emergencies and opportunities
•   Don’t spend more than you earn
•   Don’t be in debt
Why Self Branding?
• To create a good image to both upper management and
  colleagues
• To make yourself memorable
• To create an identity for yourself
How to Self brand?
• Proper working attire
• Good mannerisms
  • Say Thank You
  • Greet everyone
  • Be generous with you handshakes!
• Always learn and improve yourself
• Speak well and politely
• Good self confidence
Be a humble team player
• Get to know your teammates
• Always listen to suggestions and give them as well
• Be mindful of your words and try your best not to hurt
  anyone’s feelings
• Be part of the team and don’t think yourself as the best
• Don’t be arrogant. Learn from one another
Work to learn, not to earn
• Have a learning mindset
  • Focus on gaining experience and learning
• Always cease the opportunity to learn
• Perceive money as a secondary objective
• Don’t be lazy to learn
Perseverance
•   Transitioning to the working life might be hard to keep up
•   There will always be good and bad experiences
•   Pick yourself up quickly and try again!
•   Talk to a close friend about your struggles
•   Have a circle of colleagues who encourages one another
Work Hard and Work Smart
•   Give your best in your work place!
•   Don’t be lazy and procrastinate what you need to do
•   Always strive to do better
•   Don’t overwork, know when to relax
•   Don’t work when it’s time to relax and don’t relax when it’s
    time to work
Set Goals
• Goals will motivate
• Goals will indicate achievements
• Setting goals will push you to achieve greater things in your
  career
• If you don't know where you are going, you will probably end

•   A goal must be possible to achieve
•   It must have a timeline
•   Aim higher!
•   Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the
    stars. ~Les Brown
Enjoy and love your job
•   Loving your job is the best thing you can do
•   The stress will be easily lifted off your shoulders
•   There won’t be complains
•   Without knowing it, you will give your best all the time
Networking

• Building strong networks will help you to grow your career in
  the future!
• Don’t despise anyone you meet right now, they might be of
  great help to you in the future!
• Always look forward in building good friendships with
  everyone around you
